Hey Vermyapre,
I put quite some time in the manual when i wrote it 1.8 years ago or something (i made some coasters on the way to work out the process), and it IS working. (i made a lot of people happy considering the emails i got about it), and it was not nice that someone trashes it like that, while indeed it works. (i havent updated it since).
But, no problem, all fine here. I see where you were coming from. :)
And the Nero shortcut is good. Maybe i should add it to the guide. :)

Anyway: i can tell you that tekken tag tournament does not work. It cant be patched properly with dvdscanlite. I tried that game myself and it doesnt work. Also, i know 2 another guys who tried it too. The game wont work when converted. (maybe a new version of Sonix's tool will fix that, i dont know)
Gradius V should work BTW, i'm not sure if the PAL and NTSC or JAP version all patch with no problems, but at least one of them is working. :) (i use DVD-RW or DVD+RW to try it, so i dont have coasters. You can also put it on your ps2 HDD with WINHIIP to try it out)

Also, there is a guy 'scorcherboy' on another well know ps2-scene forum who made a LOT (and i mean a lot) of multiple games on DVD and RIPS on DVD and CD games on DVD. So, there IS a list with succesful converted games on the net. You can check that out to see if there are still problematic games.

you have lost me a bit there.....?

if its to small for a dvd, then its a cd-rom based game.
which you can either burn to a CD or convert to dvd using scanlite/nero/isobuster,
then it will burn to dvd disk, whatever size it is

why do you need to use cd/dvd gen?

Hi, can anybody help with the LBA values for Lego Star Wars?

I have a backup copy of it on my hard drive, which I extracted with ISO buster, but I lost the CD and I don't have an image. I tried burning it in alphabetical order, but of course it won't work without burning the files in LBA order.

The user 'CyborgX' mentioned having Lego Star Wars. Anybody else?

It's frustrating having the backup but not being able to play it! Cheers.

dont worry about the order, just drop them in Nero burning rom,(udf/iso) option
after you have scanned all the files/sub files first of course

Thanks hursty. Thanks larrylje. I burned the DVD and it works perfectly!

When I dropped the files in Nero, they arranged themselves in alphabetical order anyhow. I also think I missed scanning a file the first time round which might explain why it didn't work also. I still used a dummy.dat file.

Using Nero is heaps easier than having to deal with CD/DVD gen.

Sup y'all? I'm havin some probs from the get-go. The few games I've opened in isobuster always give me this error at some point durin extraction.

Any ideas?

Also, which mem card (ps, ps2) is appropriate in this case for savin data?

Oh and what about 2-cd games such as chrono cross or grandia? Can both cds be merged on one dvd or do you have to put them on 2 dvds as originally intended? 'preciate your efforts, thanx.

P.S. In case the pic doesn't come out, it's an 'unreadable sector' error. Sector 52127 couldn't be read. Error: 05/64/01 RETRY IGNORE this sector or QUIT.

So what program are you guys using to save the PS2 CD-Rom images onto your hard drives? Can you use CloneCD, or is it something else? I'd like to try this out too, since DVD-R's read so much better than the CD-Roms.

Also, will this CD-R to DVD-R work on Swapmagic PS2's? I don't want to be wasting my time here..

Broken Salad.

I tried backing up my PS2 DVD with no success. I followed the DVD Decrypter instructions and used a SWAP Disk ver. 3.6. After the swap (I removed the top and just simply swap the discs) I get a message that says "Please insert a PLAYSTATION or PLAYSTATION 2 format disc" with a reddish galaxy backgroung. I'm ussing HP DVD-R discs. I tried it twice with the .mds and .iso. Please help.

maybe this will help,

----------------------------------------------------------------------------
Unique Disc Identifier : [DVD-R:CMC MAG. AE1]
----------------------------------------------------------------------------
Disc & Book Type : [DVD-R] - [DVD-R]
Manufacturer Name : [CMC Magnetics Corp.]
Manufacturer ID : [CMC MAG. AE1]
Blank Disc Capacity : [2,298,496 Sectors = 4.71 GB (4.38 GiB)]
----------------------------------------------------------------------------
[ DVD Identifier V4.2.0 - http://DVD.Identifier.CDfreaks.com ]

Also, How do you know if you have an asti installed.

@ Phillyman
you need to have a fliptop or slide tool to swap the disc. You cant just hit the open button on the PS2 to open the top. Doing this will reset the game system. I have heard of people using some sort of straw technique instead of spending money on a slid tool or fliptop. So maybe search on that method if you dont want to pay extra. Also HP disc are cheap try better media

I think this CDrom to DVD-R method does not work with Swapdiscs. That, or I do not have the correct programs to do this. If I can get some help, I'd like that very much.

1. I have CloneCD, Alcohol 120%, and that DVD Decrypter. DVD Decrypter does NOT read the DVD drive because said PS2 game is a CD-rom, not DVD-rom. What do I make an image file with?

2. I tried this on two different games, one with an image from the CloneCD program and the other, I just dragged the files raw from ISOBuster. Neither seemed to work. When I scan them, I just burn those files and forget about the image file I got them from or am I supposed to somehow replace them?

3. Since it's DVD-R, I'm guessing I'd have to use the DVD Swap disc? Obviously. I have Swap Magic 3 Version 3.3, if that helps any.

Other than all that, I have no clue on what to do. I need some help, cuz I don't want to waste more DVD-R's if this just doesn't work.

Broken Salad.

@ReloadX

1. Use Clone CD/DVD to make an image of the CD-ROM

2. Then open the image in ISO buster and copy the files to a folder make sure you remmber (write down) or keep ISOBuster open so you can see the order the files are listed in ISO Buster.

3. Run Scanlite 3.5 patch it to DVD and make sure you scan all folder and subfolders. Every folder needs to be scanned.

4. In Nero choose new project: UDF/ISO DVD (The last option)
Drag files into Nero in the order they appear in ISO buster
Then Burn disc.

And yes this method works with Swap Magic I use Swap Magic and it works.

Well, I tried this method many times spanning 2 different games, and it hasn't worked. So I'm not wasting anymore DVD-R's. Maybe it's my Nero? I have version 6, Ultra Edition. Other than that, I did exactly as told, and no go at all. Wasted about 6 DVD-R's.

I don't hit the reset button. I unscrewed the top of my PS2.and swap without hitting any buttons. I don't have the slim, I have the older one. I just realized that the HP disc is a waste of money. I'll give it a try with a better disc, Thanks.

@Phillyman

Did you try to load the swap magic and switch with the lid just off? instead of loading the game then tacking off the top and swaping then replacing the top back on. Try to just tack the top off at the start. Once your done playing the game put the lid back on. I know on my fliptop I have noticed if I boot up my swap magic with the lid closed and then open the lid that it will go to the insert PS2 disc error. So I just keep the fliptop open and it will work everytime. The smallest touch or jolt will mess up the load of swap magic or the game.

Ive been following the instructions on the first page of this thread to a tee. Riping from original games works perfectly. and I followed the instructions to rebuild and such using scanlite & Iso buster. The problem is, after the copy is done I put it in the PS2 and the picture rolls and so far seems in black and white. I have had the exact problem trying to burn downloads of video. Im using Nero 6.6.0.1
Is there a plugin im missing? Have made way to manny coasters this week... :)

Thanks
