that sounds like your trying to play a PAL game on an NTSC system. How do you have your PS2 modded?
If your using swap magic then at the load screen on Swap Magic choose NTSC video mode and it should then work.

Honistly. Im not sure, I had someone put a mod chip in last year and was screwed up. they tried again and messed up even worse. I sent it to a second guy that rebuilt a fried board and put in the best mod chip available at the time. There is no load up screen, backups just load as if they were an original.
As for pal/ntsc, I havnt tried anything different then when I do back ups of a game or video in Nero. Backing up from an original works perfect. or is this something out side of nero?

OK I did all of this stuff, im copying a JPN cd to DVD, and all i get, is it starts loading, the screen flashes black a couple times, then it says "insert a psone or ps2 format disk" ... everything i did seems right, i dont understand >.>

im having truble putting the files into Nero i try puttig them in the order thay apper but Nero just keeps changing the order of em

Nero will list them in a diffrent order but it will burn in the order you selcte them in. So dont worry about what Nero says the order is. Just make sure you selct them in the order that the game orignaly was.

I just followed the guide with the Sega Rally Championship 1995 bonus disc that comes with Sega Rally 2006. The bonus disc is a CD and I transfered it to a Maxell DVD+R with no trouble at all. I use SwapMagic 3.6 by the way.

Hi, I've just a little question:

You need a modchip or some sort of boot disc like Swap Magic and a slide tool or fliptop to play backups.

ever since I put my mod chip in it wont read cd's, so Im trying to get bomberman hardball oh a dvd looks like its gonna load but then returns to the memory card browser part and says theres a ps2 disc inserted.when I extracted the files from the image its only 517mb and the image is 595mb is that right? also do it need to patch more than one file the sles

open up all the folders/sub folders and try and patch everything,there maybe something you missed
remember that this method is not 100% successful

WORKS great!
i burned it first just thinkin i could miss some of the files in the sub sub foilders..but it failed!, then i done every single file in every subfolder and it worked :D
this will help me alot since my ps2 sucks very bad at readin cd-r's
the cd to dvd i patched action replay max btw ;)

Hey everyone.
I can't seem to make cd to dvd conversions of Harvest Moon and Contra: Shattered Soldier. I did (or at least I think I did) everything this topic said. I also heard that some games won't work. So has anyone been able to successfully make dvd backups of these two games?

Great guide, works like a charm so far.
I've sucessfully backed up my Codebreaker v9.2 and Action Replay Max EVO, both worked, minus the annoying disc grinding noise that comes with playing CD games ;). Absolute bliss when reading those DVD discs now, thanks!
I haven't tried any ACTUAL games yet (since those are utilities and I believe neither disc has subfolders). Currently going to attempt this on FF9, I'll report back with results.
EDIT - It didn't work the first time I tried to back up FF9, but I'll try again, since I've reread all the replies here and found that you need to drag the files in the order that they're in ISOBuster.
Apparently it doesn't work with FF9. Hmm.
BTW, if people have been experiencing read sector errors when opening PSX image files with ISOBuster (like I did with FF9), try WinImage: http://www.winimage.com ... it opened those pesky images without a problem for me. So now you've got 2 options (but you still need to keep the files in the order as they appear in ISOBuster).

not sure if i mis-understood your post,but you cannot put ps1 games on dvd disk using this method
its for ps2 only
intel P4 660,2048mb ram,2 X 400gb sata HDD,2 x pioneer cd/dvd combo drives...
