Jerry is right. Copying something you don't own is piracy and sense they blatantly tell us they got a advanced copy from a video store, then we know they didn't buy it. :)

just to be clear people BUY advance copies all the time. this is not "illegal." maybe they are not around in small towns but one can buy copies before the supposed embrgo date quite often.

if you bought an advanced copy and made a copy for yourself it is not piracy. (as other shave noted breaking the encryption for your own copy cannot be considered piracy, and mayor may not be illegal).

Deline; thx for advice on Bewitched to copy with DVDFab, compress with Shrink and finally burn with Nero. Used DVDFab and it copied fine, but tried to burn with Clone DVD Version 3 which is set to use Nero as the Burn engine, but it gave me an error.

However...
Re Deline: you could have AnyDVD running in the background and use DVD Shrink or DVD Decrypter to get the job done.

Not so. DVD Shrink won't read it saying navigation error. DVD Decrypter froze as did Clone DVD 3 during reading/decrypt phase. In fact, on freezing, had to reboot and the Bewitched Disk somehow took out the USB Drive connected to Liteon External burner while trying to install some goofy drive w/asian characters on it - leaving me having to unplug and plug in again. For me, DVDFab is the only copy program that got rid of the encryption effectivelyfrom this Sony produced Bewitched movie.

re Jerry746 on "If you have AnyDVD and Clonedvd2, why are you burning with Decrypter??? You are doing and extra step that isn't necessary. Clonedvd2 with the help of AnyDVD will rip and burn the final output all in one step. "

I have Clone DVD version 3 and always run AnyDVD in the background. However Clone DVD, for whatever reason, is far slower in both compressing and decrypting than using DVD Shrink w/DVD Decrypter together. I create the ISO image file first that takes 20 to 30 minutes that automatically prompts DVD Decrypter when done that burns it in anywhere from a few minutes to 20 minutes depending on whether I use 16X, 8X or 4X blank DVD discs and size of file.

Use Decrypter with AnyDVD running, the problem is Puppetlock:

Summary for drive F: (AnyDVD 5.4.4.1)
Drive (Hardware) Region: 1

Media is a Data DVD.
Booktype: dvd-rom (version 1), Layers: 2 (opposite)

Video DVD (or CD) label: DVD_VIDEO
Media is CSS protected!
Video Standard: NTSC
Media is locked to region(s): 1!

RCE protection not found.
Found & removed wrong DVD structure!
Found & removed structural copy protection (Arccos, Puppetlock)!
Found & removed Autorun from Video DVD!
Found & removed 2 bad sector protections!
Emulating RPC-2 drive with region 1!

Clone DVD version 3
CloneDVD2 does not have a version 3 that is not the slysoft program. And slysoft's CloneDVD is usually much faster than Shrink.

I've used AnyDVD in the back ground and it still does not work. I can see that it's seeing the Puppet script.

The only thing that worked was DVDfab along with Shrink and decrypter

Ummm..I just used DVDFab to rip Bewitched but it would not open in DVDShrink. It kept telling me there was invalid information contained in the file....I have AnyDVD running in conjunction with DVDFab. Should I turn it off and rerip with DVDFab?

With AnyDVD in the background I tried DVD Shrink and it failed to rip with an error message so I tried Decrypter to rip with AnyDVD in the background and it ripped fine then I burnt with Shrink. Everything worked out after and it should work, all software was the latest versions.

To burn or not to burn, there is no question.

There are something like ten threads on this movie. People should try a search before opening a new thread and pretty much saying the same thing. Sorry for venting(I know at one point we were all newbies) but with a little effort and reading you can back this movie up with hardly any effort "Deline" stated how to do it and it works great, the only difference I burned mine with CloneDVD. Like I said sorry about venting.

No CloneDVD2 would not have a version 3 because you're already identifying it as Clone DVD version 2. Yes, this is Slysoft and it says CloneDVD3 retail version with 3.0.2.5 found by right clicking properties on executable file. No matter, because for me, it's much slower DVD Shrink...

remember for this movie to work you need to update your AnyDVD to the latest version of 5.4.4.1 Then all works. I used cloneDVD2 and worked fine after updating AnyDVD.

Run AnyDVD, use DVD Decrypter to decrypt, then use DVD Shrink to put it on the disk. Use all latest versions... Should work fine.

@Adnihilo, I hate to tell you this but you DO NOT have the ELBY version of CloneDVD 2. You have the rip off version 3 by I think Softpedia.com.
The GOOD CloneDVD 2 is version 2851 by Elaborate Bytes and also sold by Slysoft on their site. Arniebear was trying to give you the proper information.

I read through these posts and was able to backup BEWITCHED successfully on my comp. but now when I am trying to burn with DVD Shrink, I keep getting an "Out of Memory" error (which I have gotten before with other DVDs - i've never been able to successfully back up a DVD to my HD and then burn with Shrink. I have enough HD space, that is not an issue so I dont know why im getting the memory error....

Can anyone offer help or a suggestion....?

I am getting the exact same error that is posted above using DVD Decrypter with ANYDVD in the background. Tried to decrypt to file and iso and turned read errors off.

I get the same:
Failed to read Sector 737513 - CIRC Unrecovered Error
Failed to read Sector 737514 - CIRC Unrecovered Error
Failed to read Sector 737515 - CIRC Unrecovered Error
Failed to read Sector 737516 - CIRC Unrecovered Error
Failed to read Sector 737517 - CIRC Unrecovered Error
Failed to read Sector 737518 - CIRC Unrecovered Error
Failed to read Sector 737519 - CIRC Unrecovered Error

Edit: Realized my AnyDVD was an older version, going to update and try again.

You can't burn with shrink. You need a burning program such as DVDdecryptor, DVD Fab Decryptor, Imgburn, Nero, and the such. DVDShrink is not a burning program.

Visit: http://www.slysoft.com

I was just there and they do not have version 3. CloneDVD2 is it. Arniebear was not trying to steer you wrong, only right. Hope this helps.
