I used DVDSHRINK and it worked fine. I came upon this thread by accident. The only thing I do is I only get the movie itself. No menu, credits, extras. Movie only.

I too, had so, much trouble copying Bewitched; no matter what I did, it gave me errors, froze, including locking up my drive. I actually reinstalled Media Center 7, thinking something got corrupt with the program.
I use Roxio Media Center 7/disc copier, but think this rule will apply to all software. When I put in my movie, it shows up as DVD_Video; I added the prefix DVD. to it, making it DVD.DVD_VIDEO.iso [I always make an .iso image]. I tried it too by adding DVD.DVD_VIDEO.Bewitched.iso and it also worked.
I must have spent at least 3 hours trying to figure it out; I'm a person that never gives up. If this occurs again, I will try this method on my other movies.
Good luck to all who try this method.

Ugh!!! I have tried shrink alone...I get invalid dvd navigation. I have tried AnyDVD w/ shrink still get the same error. I have tried DVDFab alone only get the last twenty minutes of movie or get the whole movie but all choppy and freezes. not to mention it is too huge to use w/ shrink unless I reauthor. I have also tried dvdd same as everyone else stops not to long after it begins. Oh! I have tried DVD43 in combo with shrink and dvdfab. i am about to pull out all my hair...Please someone tell me a combo with any of these programs that will work. Thanks so much!

I guess no one takes the time to read anymore, just post. This is from one of my earlier posts.
Quote: Everyone is going to have a different way to do Bewitched and they may all work. The common denominator here is to use one of the latest decrypters, AnyDVD, DVD Fab and possibly DVD43 although I haven't seen DVD43 mentioned as yet. AnyDVD will work with almost every program but seems to work best with CloneDVD 2. DVD Fab is a good new ripper and DVD 43 was updated a few months ago so it should work. Shrink and Decrypter are no longer updated so they will need help from one of the other 3 programs to work on the new encryptions. Take your choice. The main thing here is it can be done if processed properly. This thread can go on forever with everyone telling us their way of doing it. Just remember you need one of the new decrypting programs to do it. Good luck.
Posting your problems with Bewitched when you are still using an older decrypter is a waste of time. You need to READ THE POSTS of those that had success with backing up this movie. The answers are all here in this thread.

I agree on not reading the thread, I posted way back on page one to use AnyDVD or DVD FabDecrypter, both worked and are the common denominator for doing this and Lords of Dogtown.

I always use AnyDVD in the background and Nero Recode2 movie only. Recode2 DOES NOT like this movie!
I then used DVD Decrypter to rip the files and then used Recode2 to burn Movie Only. When playing in any of my DVD players, it just sits there trying to search between different chapters. If I hit the pause button, then hit play, it starts the movie from the beginning. It did the same thing when using CloneDVD2 and AnyDVD together and burning Movie Only. What DID WORK for me was AnyDVD alone with CloneDVD2 Movie Only but also selected Keep Original Menu. When it gets to the original menu page and selecting Play, everything is fine.
I just wanted to add to all this fun listed on this thread so far! <G>

@ScubaBud
Yeah, you have to rip to HDD and then use Recode, and it is that stupid blank before Lady Liberty that screws up Recode on the movie only, I used the Remake a DVD feature and then just edited out the blank space and then did it, then Recode worked just fine and the movie plays with no problems on my standalones.

I also tried to backup Bewitched but got cannot create log file the first time and then got a bad sector error the second time. I'm using DVD Xcopy with AnyDVD. The disk is good so if anyone has any ideas.

This thread has ideas aplenty. Just about any and every method has been used in this thread. I'm thinking that this ought to be made a sticky before too long...LOL There must be at least 8 different Bewitched threads on this forum.
AnyDVD 5.5.1.1. will break the encryption, so will DVDFab, and rip to hd, use shrink if needed and burn with decrypter, recode, or whatever burning tool that you use. AnyDVD and CloneDVD2 will work as well.
Keep trying, you'll get it.

I already sent a suggestion about the STICKY on this thread. We have many other Bewitched threads showing up all over. If the mods feel its needed they will do so.

I too tried to burn Bewitched and it did not work with the old methods. I know this is not the point but the movie rates 1 out of ten stars. I got Batman no problem, a much better movie. When I cannot burn , I watch and it usually saves me a disc or two... Blair

Very good suggestion! Some of these movies are not worth the effort. Then again, you have freaks like me who rip them just for the challenge, and to post fixes for them. This is one movie i wont be ripping, as i wont probably wont watch it, and there doesn't seem to be anything special going on in the way of anti-copy on this movie.
