joshnkari, This is a little more detailed version of what I did that helped someone else out. Try reading the following:::::
The problem you are having is that Sony managed to insert a bat "bit" of data into one of the VOB files that causes Shrink to bomb out. For whatever reason, that bad "bit" does not affect the playback in DVD players. Here's what you need to do:
Go back to Afterdawn and follow any discussion around the program called VOBBlanker and download that program. VOBBlanker will download as a simple zip file that you'll extract into a folder on your PC and will include an executable file.
Once you have VOBBlanker on your PC, you'll want to create a new folder on your PC for the DVD files you are going to "scrub" with VOBBlanker. Open up VOBBlanker and there will be two boxes you'll need to populate...an "Input Folder" box and an "Output Folder" box. Use the browse button of the "Input Folder" to locate the folder where your DVDDecrypted files are located. (Running DVDDecrypter was not a waste of time. VOBBlanker does not remove encoding...it just cleans out the bad bits of data.) Then use the browse button of the "Output" box to locate the new folder where you want to dump the newly scrubbed files.
That's it. Click on the PROCESS button and it will take several minutes. Once completed, you will have two folders that appear to contain identical sets of DVD files. Use DVDShrink on the new folder of ofiles and you should be just fine. You can delete the old (original" folder that had the DVDDecrypter files.
So three steps. 1- Run DVDDecrypter, 2 - Scrub those files using VOBBlanker, 3 - Compress the newly scrubbed DVD files using Shrink.
Let me know how it worked.

Just had success!!! Thanks a million guys.....
After trying dvdfab, dvd platinum, shrink and various other combos, this worked: 1.Run AnyDVD in background
2. Use CloneDVD to rip to hard drive
3. Use DvdShrink to burn
Voila!!! Worked the first time. Also works on Stealth, but in CloneDVD remove the previews.
BTW, played both in my dvd player and they work great, no freezing up or anything. Thanks again.

Why didn't you just compress and burn with Clone it works a lot faster and you do not need to use Shrink. Just finished doing this movie twice full length with AnyDVD and Clone and it works perfectly.

Thanks for the info, will definately try. I admit the way I did it was rather time consuming......

Hi there, i try to backup Stealth & Madagacar.I have tried many ways base on what people posted. I try the one that required 4 different programs (oo god it was so long), also tried Dvdcolne, and others. But the best and the no brainer one is to use "Dvd Decrypter to rip the files then use VobBlanker to kill the protection programs in the rip files and burn it with DVD Shrink-using Nero." The only difference is that it will take 25mins longer for you to make a copy of DVD. Because of the process that have to go thought. But if u want a copy of the newest dvd, then that's what you have to do.

I don't know why everyone is having so much trouble with this movie. All I did was use Decrypter, it made an ISO image, then opened the image with Shrink and did the normal throwing away of languages and then used shrink to start Nero and it copied without a hitch!!
I usually just use Shrink to do everything, but this movie would lock up Shrink, so I just used Decrypter to create an image of the disc and it worked fine!!!

^^^^These new discs are weird. They work for some and not for others. I did notice however that I saw 2 versions of Stealth. One was 1 disc and the other was 2 disc with over 4 hours of Extras or something like that. Maybe one has ARccOS and the other does not.
Also, there is a chance that the actual drive has something to do with it or maybe even the quality of the pressing.

Madagascar the movie
Rip with DVDD in file mode. I got some pack header errors. Those are new.
Compress and burn with Recode2. I tried shrink but it bombed out. Weird!
Is this ripguard, or just some new perverted version of ARccOS???? The reason that I ask is that I think in the literature for Ripguard, I think it states that the protection is adapative. This could explain what works for some wont work for others. That being said, Ripguard may be targeted at the 'occasional' rippers. Macrovision may just want to pi$$ them off enough to give up ripping.
BTW this disk had a huge ammount of crap on it. I just disabled it with recode.
Beer is good...and stuff!

While I'll admit that I have not done Madagascar, any PROBLEM dvd movie I have had recently can be ripped to the HD with DVDFab Decrypter,(such as Stealth and Bewitched), or DVDDecrpter with appropriate PSL2 file, which are available on web. Just do Google search. The above works for Arccos protection schemes.
If Madagascar is protected by something else, well that is something else, and above solutions may not apply.

They have released a new version of DVDFab Decrypter. It fixes the "Madagascar" issue. This is taken from the change log in DVDFab Decrypter 2.9.5.8:
Quote: "2.9.5.8 (11/18/2005)
- Change: Added support for a new protection as found on "Madagascar" (US).
It's not a Sony movie, but the protection is almost same with Sony ARccOS."
Make sure you uninstall your current version of DVDFab Decrypter before you install this version!!
You can get it here: http://www.dvdidle.com/free.htm

ANYONE WHO NEEDS HELP WITH MADAGASCAR: HERES THE SCOOP. I bought AnyDVD(best product ever) and then ran it in the background and then used DVDShrink to rip it and copy it to the hard drive. I then used DvDDecrypter to burn the disc. But I only did the main movie because there are so many extras that the compression would have been 44% and the picture quality would have been crap. So there it is!!!!!!!!!!

This worked for me as no other thing did, but not on my pioneer 108 just on my lg DVD burner...

Okay, I downloaded VOB and it seemed to be running ok until it got to VOB 8 and then got an error message. It stopped running at that point and the only option it gave me was to quit. It wouldn't let me continue processing. How do you get past this?

Of course I did that first. Followed the directions in picking the DVD Decrypter file to run in VOB Blanker but it's still crapping out when it gets to that VOB 8

Did anyone catch what Fro42011 said. DVD Shrink to burn. Shrink does not burn. I used the latest version of any dvd which came out yesterday the 17th. Did both Stealth and Mad with it running in the background then just used shrink to reauthor and encode and decrypter to burn. Did notice that my dvd player stuck at zero for at least 15 seconds before it started to play. Shrinks start/end feature should take care of this nicely.
I was so ugly when I was a kid, my parents used to take me everywhere just so they wouldn't have to kiss me goodbye.

I've had little trouble with this DVD. DVD Decrypter decrypted it with no errors. DVD Shrink wouldn't open it, so I used Nero Recode, and it worked. Just to be sure, I tried it with DVDXCopy Platinum (not Express, as I think they did something to the DVD to trick certain progrms into thinking the main movie is very short) with no problems, and the same with Roxio's Easy DVD Copy 7. In total, I've made 7 copies of this movie as follows: 1 - 1:1 DVD+R DL copy
1 - Compressed copy from 3 different programs totaling 3
1 - Main movie only copy from 3 dif. programs totaling 3
The only problem I encountered was in Chapter 6, when Alex is waking up from being tanquilized the first time, the audio cut out for 3-4 seconds, but I think it was a media problem. I tried another brand of DVD and that problem went away.

The way I have mine set up when shrink is through it automatically burns with Nero, sorry for the confusion.

fro is right...Nero is automatically set up to burn right after encodeing....it burns with Nero. Its handy if you want to walk away from the puter for awhile....just put in your blank disc, and let shrink encode and burn :O))

Once you open the dvd in Nero Recode, how do you encode it? The options that it gives is to burn i MPEG format so how do you get it to burn on dvd in format where it can be viewed on any dvd player?
