I cant access anything .... please help me out I want to play half life 2 again.

Sounds like you need to re-install the dash... So can you start a game? Does the xbox just freeze on the M$ Dash? Can you move through the menus?

I see what you're saying now... It sounds as if both hard drives are broken... Is the factory HDD modded at all? It would have to be to get the eeprom.bin to lock the 160GB HDD...

If u know someone with a modchip you can put your harddrive in their xbox and ftp to the chip bios. this will give access to the hd and u can restore required files. u may need your eeprom to lock/unlock the hd but I think most chips (if not all) give access to partitions even on a locked hd!

If u have your eeprom file saved on floppy or pc u can use xboxhdm.

I aint getting on no plane, fool!

That's what I was aiming towards. But these error codes don't sound like missing file errors. They sound more like physical defects, and it sounds more like the motherboard, since both HDD's don't work.

I have the boot disks that goes with the hd, + lock passwords, Im thinking it could be that the MotherB is locked with a different pass than the HD. The problem is getting either a) get software that can help me recognize the HD in my computer (it does not recogonize the drive as a master or slave)B) getting my xbox to recognize the burnt system disk. If I could insert the old Xbox HD in the box and could get pass the M$ boot logo I could at least start at square one with a fresh install... I need some advice on what to do.... please help

Look up "Xboxhdm" its a HDD program for you computer. You burn a disk containing your xbox eeprom.bin (lock passwords, etc.) and it boots your computer to a special version of Linux that lets you salvage/install/wipe an Xbox HDD in your PC. There;s plenty of tutorials online, but you need the eeprom.bin from YOUR xbox. Lock files from HDD a will not unlock HDD b.

The problem a majority of you have--including redryan--is an incompatible PC BIOS for Xboxhdm. Essentially, you have followed the instructions correctly, but some problems (in redryan's case, the inability to bootstrap a CD OS, and the infamous drive freezing problem, etc.) will be caused by the motherboard itself (and it's BIOS chip) being unable to do what Xboxhdm requests of it. Try running the program on an older PC. Hope that helps.

ok, ndjumpbal, i cannot load the gamesave that was the first thing i tried, all that is saved on my hdd was the profile not the actual exploit. and now i have a couple things saved from games i played after that. but now withing the last couple days i have had it unplugged for a while and the internal clock is no longer set and without my dash i cant set it so i cannot even play games anymore. it just goes to error 16 now(i think its 16 cant remember for sure) i might just send thekingo7 my hdd if i can ill contact him on it though.

The same tng happened to me. All you have to do is get a modchip. I prefer pre-flashed with a BIOS, so it can boot up un-signed codes. After that is done, burn Slayers Auto-Installer to a blank disk (DVD-R recommended). Put the disk in your Xbox, reboot it, than the installer hould boot up. Follow the directions on screen, and good luck!

no you dont have to get a modchip. there are some easier ways to do this. one is if you just wanna get rid of the internal clock error just put a friends unmodded hdd in your xbox boot it then put yours back in and boot it and its fixed, the easiest way by far. or you can put ur xbox hdd in your computer and run that program from a cd, i cant remember the program name but it was said in this forum already. i think it was xboxhdm or something like that, it will also fix it.

Yes. As redryan has said, Xboxhdm allows you to wipe/re-install, etc. an xbox hard drive, presuming you have backed it up and have the eeprom.bin file. It will allow you to boot from a CD and edit the hard drive.
