What version of Nero does everyone use? I've been trying to work out how everyone uses Nero for this but like, I see NO side menus or anything with my Nero. I have the DVD/CD menu, burn data disc, bootable disc, MP3 Disc, CD Audio disc, etc. I don't know if you guys are using an older version or i'm doing something wrong because there's no side menus or anything any of the backup ps2 forums speak of, on my Nero.

you need to use Nero burning rom
mine is Nero ultra 6.6.0.1.6,(never felt the need to update it)

maybe your image file will work with your Nero.
1. find the image file in your browser
2. right click it
3. click "open with"
4. when a box opens up, scroll down, find Nero.

then you'll know if Nero can operate with that file.

the thing with Nero that makes it complicated (and it's different with every version, i've got Nero 5.5, Nero express 6, and Nero 7 ultra) is that they have Nero express and "nero burning rom"

1. try opening the program folder (in my computer, under programs) called "ahead," and/or "nero" (some versions have their files in the "ahead" folder, some in a "nero" folder, some in both, or split up).
2. press ctrl+f
3. type "nero" in the box titled "search for files or folders..."
4. click "search now"
6. wait a couple of seconds or minutes, depending on your speed...
7. now you know what all "nero" programs you got.
8. you want "nero" or "nero burning rom," not "express"

If u need the program, i'd Google on "bittorrent" and then find some torrent sites. Never know what you might find on one of 'em ;)

ok, i thought some one like Tokijin would have an answer, i've seen him all over the net. [geesh]

i can't decide what modchip to get. some say they do certain things, others don't.

anyone know where i can read reviews, or just tell my your thoughts on the best chips?

thanks.

[[i want to play ps1 and ps2 backups, have hd support, play online with copies, and multi-disc support (for games that say "please insert disc 2 to continue), and macrovision off+greenfix would be a bonus]]

Tokijin has a LIFE, mrsds. His life does not revolve around you, or this website. He is one of the most helpful ppl I have found in the scene. (*wonders if he actually plays games once in awhile... ;)

Anyway, it prob isn't legal to talk about certain things. You want PS2 games? Buy em....or find a friend who can get 'em.

modchips are you personal opinion. DMS, Crystal Chip and Matrix Infinity are the best known. Do some research and decide on your own.

Make sure you're using CD-R Swap Magic disc and CD-R's or vice versa. Then again I BOW to anyone who has enough SNES ROMs to use a whole DVD+R/DVD-R.

sifting through all those files, deciding which emu version of each game is best.... blech, i say.

I have a problem. When I try to load the rom from the cd the snes emulator said there was no roms or directories but there was. Is there any other way to burn the roms so the snes emulator can read it?

find the snes station website, follow their instructions. they have two different methods, depending on the capabilities of whatever you are using to get the emulator to run. both kinds worked for me, 'cuz i'm using swap magic 3.6, and it has good functionality.

depends on the method you use to load the thing.

This is about NES, I did what has been posted for NES, and it didn't work. I just wanna know why. Do I need something more. I'm using a v12 PS2 with a modchip, but I don't know which one. I have to hold the button til the blue startup screen comes on to play backup DVD's. I really dont know how to boot backup PS1 games.

you need to check instructions for your particualy modchip.

the nes emulator for ps2 that i am familiar with creates. a ps1 format cd.

running a ps1 format disc, ps1 copy, ps2, ps2 dvd, and dvd... they all have different boot methods for different modchips.

vpeternal.

you can put as many roms on the disc that your modchip or swapdisc program will allow.

swapmagic versions up to version 3 have a limit, where as swap magic 3.1 does not.

with playstation2, anyway, the system only searches out so many files. some swap disc programs and modchips have a built-in system to tell the playstation 2 to 'look further' for more files.

make sure you research the specs on the method you use to launch your rom disc.
