Hey jizmak, it seems that you got caught in some corporate political BS. You're a smart guy though, and there's little doubt that any intelligent management team will scoop on your talent before too long. My first instinctive reaction probably would have been to have a not-so-friendly little chat with Jeff. To be truthful though, my first instinctive reactions usually wind up costing me more in the long run.(Like the optical mouse that somehow got smashed into the front of my fireplace wall and was pronounced dead just a couple of hours ago. This brilliant move cost me an unwanted trip to Walmart and money I really didn't need to spend.) I'm sure you know that that Jeff isn't worth your time or trouble. Besides, I have a feeling that you will have the last laugh as not only will you be working for a much better company, the company you are leaving will see what a mistake they made by backing that loser Jeff. Also, you can bet that Jeff is going to have a lot more pressure on him now, to produce the goods on his own.

Wise words there freshguy. Usually bullies dont make it that far in life before they get confronted with the biggest fear a bully really has. One day someone will call that bluff. Or, take them out. Back in the day, we didn't use guns, even though they were there and easy to find/use. No, we settled it with less lethal means. Nowadays some fool threatens my life physically and they will wind up staring down the wrong end of a Glock 27.. anything less, like words, and i can dish those things out too.. :) Peace thru superior firepower.. Non violence really is a good thing to aim for, if the other guy will let you take that route. Try not to get down to one or two options, but really think outside the box. Sometimes the wildest ideas wind up being the ones that work.

well hell man, if someone met me in the parking lot after work and threatened me with violence it would definately be on right then and there. and then the next day i'd try to make friends and invite him over for dinner, then cut him into little bits and bury him in my crawlspace. but hey, i dont handle confrontation well.
We think alike :) Though id use his crawlspace to bury him. The smell gets kinda bad sometimes, not that the smell of rotting flesh is a bad thing if you're in to that.
I like the thing from one of the hanibal lector movies where he cuts the guys brain out and cooks it for the guy to eat.. Yeah, that was real sick.. Another good one would be to feed him a mad cow infected burger. That diesase sounds nasty,, eating your brain out slowly.. I can't donate blood because i lived in England during the mad cow thing, and im off the list, too risky. Maybe that explains why im so strange.. MOOOOO!!!! Though i haven't been very angry..

LOL
Thanks Lethal, It's nice to know that I get one more free mouse hurl before I'm considered as lethal 2. I hate that I did that because I was on a pretty good run. I haven't smashed a Dual Shock Controller in close to a year. I probably need to be medicated.:-)

@Freshguy

I spend more money in PS2 controllers than in games for all platforms i have together... But for some reason my mouse is 4 years old... It's still the original one, outlasted the monitor and the printer that came with it... lol

Too right! Your self respect comes first before anything! If you let them get away with the first one, you're done!
I have a little clip with one of those firing a normal, then a large clip... 2 seconds to empty it! I have fired a Glock 17 before, It does have a nice kick, might be old (and ugly) now but it's still as good as the P99...

If it ain't broken it doesn't need fixing...

I don't disagree that everyone has the right to go upside somebody's head when it comes to self-defense. I was told this by a local prosecuting attorney (with some nice looking legs) a few years back. Fortunately, she was right as His Honor saw things the same way.
The thing is, I believe it is important to choose your battles well. I guess Ive become a bit pragmatic over time. Obviously, there are exceptions, but these days, unless there is something that I can gain for myself, I'm usually more inclined just to avoid the hassle and let it ride. But hey, that's just me and I don't make any non-solicited judgements about anyone else. Life's too short.

@permiggs
It's a shame, but I sense that this outburst on my part, is indicative of a chronic problem. I would be willing to bet that if on Sunday, if I would have had the chronic, there would not have been any problem. LOL

You are right freshguy. It is best to pick your battles, and make sure they are worth it. I am a very tolerant person, and will avoid confrontation if given the chance. Sometimes you dont get a chance to do that though. Sometimes you can see it coming, and you have a little bit of time to decide on how to handle things. Just going to a new job will not fix things though. These bully types are in many jobs, and one day may make you the focus of their anger.
Most of them start with verbal abuse, and you have to stop that stuff right away, or they think it is ok to abuse you. Many companies have human resourse departments, and try to prevent workplace violence. Sometimes, like our poster found out, reporting someone can get you laid off, if the guy being reported is a buddy of the boss.
I like to believe in karma. They get paid back by life for being bad. If that doesn't work, you can always run over them with your karma.. :)

like i said, let the companies human resources know what happened. that way the next person that works there and has a complaint about jeff can probably get his ass fired even if he is buddy-buddy with a supervisor.
