eD2K Razorback servers seized

article published on 22 February, 2006

Any big users of the eDonkey2000 network will already have noticed that huge servers such as Razorback2 seem to have disappeared. The Federal Belgian Police raided and seized the servers yesterday. For those not familiar with how an ed2k server works, it does not host any files, either copyrighted or other, but it does index their location on the network. The eDonkey2000 network consists ... [ read the full article ]

Preemption is a very valid idea stated by experts to shift tyranous governments into democratic ones.

So Sammoris, don't go high and mighty on me by mentionning something as ridiculous as a swastica. I simply restated what was already said.

"the US should invade all those countries before they become a real problem" I don't think that was necessarily what was already being said. I wasn't being overly serious but choosing to invade countries just because "they're a bit dodgy" is an absurd idea, we might as well be back to the days of the british empire.

Perhaps, its your choice if you disagree with those ideas, however these ideas are being considered in Iran and North Korea.

On another note, I am not sure why they bother to even use their assets to seize servers.

Lets keep p2p alive you beautiful dorks out there. The Motion Picture Association (or MPA)OR Film Actors Gild (or FAG ")just playin;)... should quite whining. Movies on p2p's aren?t worth downloading when you can see go see them on a big screen with some nice Dolby digital sound, I'm sure most people would agree so Hollywood cant be losing much of there profit to p2p. In my own opinion I may be wrong I may be right and its definitely not politically correct I believe hollywoods sales are down because there have more and more artsy and gay themed movies lately a lot more(Look at the Oscar line up) I KNOW the majority of the American audience doesn?t care see that. There ratings may seem good but that?s because ""Those people"" show up in flocks to see them. Hollywoods missing out on much bigger market "the average American" they need more comedy Action and epic stories. And please no more skinny female dominate super spies saving the world Its so mindlessly fake they may be hot but they should just shut up and take there close off and let a man do the asskicking I mean get real(again not politically correct just my own opinion)
Anyway back on subject p2p's are great for music and software why pay two thousand dollars on a software program when you can get it fo free I mean come on it?s the software and music companies that should be complaining.

That is all

and they are. Unless you have a £10,000 surround system I'd rather go and see a film at the cinema, if I get round to it. Music and software is more a problem because you have to play it at home, and it IS OVERPRICED so people download it instead.

Just curious id Edonkey is one of Shareaza's networks? I've noticed a lot more crappy atempts at virus uploads, and you sure can't find what you used to.

Here is a novel idea. Why doesn't RIAA realize that supply and demand is what's affecting the market as it does any open market. People will argue the supply has increased, (P2P) but the fact is nobody is making decent music. This is cyclical in nature. Nobody really bought music until they had a reason to. In the 60s, RIAA flourished. Not so in the 70's. Punk Rock surged in the 80s, that demand is gone, yet rap/hiphop promoting gangsters and murder is the only real thing that sells. If it's lasted this long, well over 20 years now, and nothing new has replaced it, how exactly does the very small % of P2P users actually hurt their business? We all know music will no longer be sold as a tangible item, they should side with te P2Ps because that's where we are headed, nobody wants to go to the store and buy CDs anymore. You don't have tell this to Tower Records, why must we tell RIAA? MPII applies just the same. What was the last good movie you saw? Something along the lines of "good movies." How far can you take Star Wars? Will we ever see a blockbuster movie like E.T. again? Put some decent stuff out there and demand usually follows. It aint't that freakin hard to figure this out. You know?

Shareaza is one of the edonkey networks. Emule & ed2k will search shareaza but not the other way round, it's the most inferior p2p app i've used, besides the original kazaa.

Kazaa was good more or less as good and faster than edonkey however a year after K lite came out they got soemthign up thier rear and destroied the greatness of kazaa and today its worthless ad/spyware shell of it self.

If you want music Get LimeWire If you want software and games get emule. (You'll want both, They use different networks)

Limewire is almost flawless when it comes to music and its fast.

With emule you can get just about any software program or game you want a little slower but it'll get ya there

Both are free and they work great!, and spyware and viruses aren?t a problem.

I agree with ChiefBrdy and hot_ice to a degree, and they have every right to say what they did.

I feel that no group involved in all these conflicts is free of guilt or blame. Being too PC is what's creating so many problems in today's societies.

So the Muslim religion got made fun of? So what? Every religion is made fun of, that's how they learn through a positive way that they might be at fault. What right does that give them to go out and kill innocent people and curse all other religions? We live in 2006, people change, and they need to execpt the fact that the world is not the same as it was in the original writtings of the Qu'ran.

I'm not stating that they are the only group that has problems, the totally-Christian overtones of America's gov't right now is causing a lot of economic problems as well. G. SOBush and his "hidden puppeteers" are causing many unneeded effects with all these new policies that blantantly violate our Constitution.

And let's not forget what this article is really about. Companies in general have, for as long as an establishment can be traced back to, are all about profits. Laying waste to a persons feelings or pocket book are but one of the rules carved in stone on their "hidden" agendas. As long as they can create a profit, it doesn't matter what has to be compremised to get to that goal. This is different in the case of someone doing something harmless, but doing it out of the norm, so they become a target of these companies in subterfuge to destroy what they represent.

The reason that this server had to be seized and terminated indefinitely was that the ones in charge found this as a threat to their profits and integrity, and, due to monetary backing and "moral" support, they accused and descriminated against the other group, not so different to what all these other groups are doing.

So, long live P2P, and freedom of speech and expression, because if it looses, we loose, and we loose the fight to these groups who want to supress us and keep us down.

Thanks for the compliment ZIppyDSM! I rarely get told things like that. I also agree with your argument on how all originality is being down-played for profit (if that was your intention).

Let's face it, TV (and movies) have been the same since conception. Nothing, and I mean NOTHING on either media has been changed. White people are still the majority on TV, black people are mis-represented, and Latino people are non-existent with the exception of "COPS" and "Mind of Mencia".

Movies just recompile what's been done in the past and make it what the creators see it as. It's not as bad as TV, but most everything being showed has already been done in one way or another. Resident Evil, followed up by the crap-plot of DOOM is a prime example.

That's kind of why I really enjoy Quentin Tarantino's work so much. In most cases, when women in media hit a certain age, they go from sex singles to nanny's and mothers. If you see his movie "Jackie Brown", you see how, even at 44 or so, she is still a very sexy person and very independent.

To answer your question, Limewire (I like to use Frostwire) is pretty much good for game music like DDR, but to find those really hard-to-find songs, I'd go for Soulseek. Anime is not really good to get on Limewire, due to lack of structure and relevency, so I'd stick to BitTorrent for that. Go to boxtorrents.com for anime, but they don't always have many classic animes on there. You should go to http://www.torrenttyphoon.com and make a search for the anime you're looking for there, due to it being a meta-search enging type thing which will filter through all the most popular sites.

originality is being down-played for profit
Is the understatement of the century, they have to replace fiction in comic and video game movies because tis hard for them to understand..or hard for the public to understand...I cant tell WTF thier thinking anymore at least the Remade for TV anime comanpies have an exsuse for screwing over the shows thier remakeing them for younger viewers than the show was ment for (One peice being best exsample of this a PG13 anime in normal US standards reduseced to a G kidde cartoon...its why if a domestic anime company wants to claim Copy right if they dont release it in a ture uncut sub/dub format I automaticly consender that aniem to be free game Disney and 4kids are the main 2 offenders hell disney wont even release all of Digimon on kiddie cut dvds) most of the time and trying to use the show to sell shit...but back to moives it the fiction wasnt good enough for thousands of fans it wouldn't be popular to begin with....they have also managed to take this into the Video game market and desamate gamepaly and level design to crap out generic bland games that barely make them money(prefect dark 360,Quake 4,Doom3)...both industries have gotten to complacent in just trying to get by great games that you don't forget are becoming rarer and rarer, becuse of the way Hollywood dose its remakes its the rare comic movie thats enjoyable even if you don't know the story and characters...Judge dread,Batman 1,Hellboy (I dont know much about these comics but I did enjoy the movies and Hellboy was pure fun) these compared to Xmen, batman 3,4,F4 sufer from being shallow and just not well done the only good thign about Xmen is wolverine I think hes done nicely it goes down hill after that...sooo down hill.....the DOOM moive is jsut the satus qoue we can remake anythign and make money off it....altho I would love to see them suffer from more WTF Comic/Game to Moive moives...Cat woman bombed as it shoudl for being so badly done...I cant understand why the blade and Xmen movies are liked they are so shallow and shotty compared to the comics thier made off of uuhggggg....

damn I think I crashed my spell checker *L*
One was used for most of that *L*
Sorry for the rambleings,I am on dailup now so its becoem that much more fun to find the openings endings and songs that are onthe anime I watch ,its rather annoying the CP owenrs can agress to relase the shit they let them do for the shows on one fing CD >> as for game music I wonder what can find obscure Kanomi music sets like for caslvina and some rock type music ,one song I have been trying to find for years is a slow electric gitar industrialish ttune its supposed to be the end of life force or something I have a down mix of it.

Sorry for rambleing *L* my mind is scattered and its been a high caffine day so my thoughts are bounceing all over the palce.

Since we are on the topic of P2P's, what's the best all rounder P2P server out there?

Good quality downloads, virus or spyware free, fast download, reliability...etc?

Hot Ice
Good quality downloads, virus or spyware free, fast download, reliability .....from my Exp anyhtign like that is usealy a private BT tracker or a Private newsgroup thos are mostly 1000% virus free

Mmm as far as P2P programs go (like napster,Kazzaa,Edonkey and such) Edonkey like it or not has the files its speed annoying and the chance of a virus is mabye 3-5 out of 10,all the other P2p programs have been nutered in some way and are slowly dieing if not dead already P2P programs are pretty much a dieing breed.

Bit Torrents
Well this is where p2p is at for most of us it has most of the files we are looking for and its speed is genrealy great sure a virus might pop up once and awhile reliability is better than Ed but its not perfect, like I said perfection for a multi user public thing is...well..an impossbilty? *L*

I have talked to alot of pll about the private groups and trackers and such you might have to pay buy thier as close to perfection as you can get,I havent gone that way yet sicne most of what I am looking for can be found or bought cheaply.and since I on dailup theres no point >< *L*
