after it was converted, it gave me an option to scan the files using FixVTS. It's scanning right now. Thank you.

Normally you would, but RI4M is a macro. It opens FixVTS for you if you selected it as I noted. On this one you had the option at the beginning to select FixVTS. When you make the right selections and use the app properly there's few problems.

For those not using RI4M, I've been using AnyDVD with VOBB and Shrink. So far, so good! Page 5 is my progress:
http://forums.afterdawn.com/thread_view.cfm/5/453111
*EDIT* I'm trying for a full disc backup--NOT just the main movie. Well, full disc minus the plethora of trailers and FBI warnings, and obviously, the 99 VTS'.

Call me lazy, I'll just stick to the easy method with RI4M in 1-Click mode. ;) So far I've not heard of another software doing full dvd unless some serious editing takes place.
Mr_Pink
RI4M took about 30 minutes including processing with FixVTS. How long does it take with AnyDVD and VobBlanker to get a Full DVD backup?

You're welcome. It's all in the software. We owe a lot of thanks to the folks who gave us RI4M, Shrink, Decrypter, and FixVTS.

To rip it with VOBB, full disc mind you, it was about normal. Sorry, I didn't pay attention to time but Friends was on so figure about 30 minutes, give or take a few. Remember, I blanked all the trailers loaded on the disc, plus all the warnings, and studio animations. So, technically, it should be shorter than RI4M.
Like I said, Shrink opened, analyzed, and is now encoding. Encoding time is short; ~35 minutes. I also used Menushrink because, frankly, I don't need 6 minutes worth of menus. I like animated menus, but not if it's 6 minutes lol.
Shrink is almost done encoding and after it's burned, I'll put it in the player and run it through. I'll post the results.

Updating fixVTS 1063 did not help rip Saw III. Still only AnyDVD and Clone DVD are working.

Hate to hear it. Binkie7 told me she was having a problem with a DVD drive reading it. That may be causing some people problems. I didn't encounter any problems myself. I loaded the DVD and processed it through RI4M using 1-Click with FixVTS processing selected. About 30 minutes later I had the cleaned files. It took a total of about 50 minutes for the Full DVD backup with RI4M and DVDCopy 5. I'm going to run it through RB later, about 90 minutes encoding.

@garmoon
I did menu, movie and deleted scenes and 1 audio w/ AnyDVD 6.1.1.1 beta and Clone.
It's all I usually do. 91% so very little compression.
20 mins max.
RipIt4Me did give me an error trying too read it in 1 drive - popped the disc in another and had a few patching errors but came out. Doing the full back and leaving 1 audio took it down to 65% this way.

What program did you use to get the files on your computer and what program in Nero are you trying to open them in?

The vts_08_1 VOB file which is the start of the movie is wreaking havoc on my drives in ripit4me. They slow down to a crawl starting and stopping. haven't the patience to sit here and wait for something that will never finish. Anyway my movie only backup with AnyDVD and DVDClone played perfectly. The movie is just as unsettling as the others. I do love the challenge this one brought.

RI4M took all the fun out of it for me. It didn't take much more than a regular rip plus the FixVTS processing time. About 30 minutes. Decrypter spent the extra time inserting Dummy Sectors. With RI4M and DVDCopy5 (any transcoder or encoder should work) I had a full DVD backup in about 50 minutes. Good video and it plays good.

Successful backup via AnyDVD beta 6111 and then VOBB beta 4 2130. With AnyDVD running, I ripped the entire disc (minus trailers, FBI/commentary warnings) and blanked everything else (the 99 vts cells etc). After that was done, I used Shrink to transcode and burned a successful copy with Img Burn.
After all the trailers, and other crap I don't want were blanked, and all the unnecessary audio streams left out, the final compression rate was about 78%, which isn't bad considering it's a fully functional disc, and NOT just the main movie.

Call me lazy, but RI4M (incorporating DVD Decrypter, DVD Shrink, and FixVTS) cleaned up the files for me with 1-Click mode and I did a quick transcode and burn in DVDCopy 5. The files were about 7GB. DVDCopy 5 did the whole thing with good quality. The controls work so all I needed to do was select the menu and hit play. RI4M has the option to set the DVD to go to the Menu automatically.

Here's something weird (yes I have the lasted FixVTS and have all the settings correct for FixVTS)
I've also seen this with earlier versions of AnyDVD showing invalid vob's on backup's it did. But all that matters is that they play :)
What AnyDVD shows - copied with Clone & AnyDVD

Only diff between the 2 programs - was RipIt4Me was full disc & Clone/AnyDVD was menu, movie and deleted scenes.
On that note I'm sawed for the night :)

Saw3 was the most difficult movie i have ever encounter. these were my two methods.
1- Decrypter with AnyDVD running, shrink would only open main movie and it showed about 4 files so, no good.
2- ripit4me running the files thru fixvts, it took a while but it did it.
i tried AnyDVD with so many softwares and nothing worked.
ps: ripit4me is simply the best and more reliable way to backup these sony and disney movies.
Nero Recode2 or Shrink using deep analysis and AEC/ fabdecrypter or anydvd running in the background/ IMGBurn to burn/main movie only mode= perfect.

I did exactly what Pacman told me to do. Use RI4M and FixVTS. Once I ripped the *FULL MOVIE* into my hard drive using RI4M, FixVTS scanned and fixed entire VOB files. Once I was done with that, I used CloneDVD 2 and burned the movie into a DVD+R disc and the extra features to another disc. Thanks again Pacman.
Btw, I've always wanted a program where I didn't have to add "Video Has Been Removed" file into the main movie in "Special Features" disc (as did when I used DVDShrink). Now I can do that with CloneDVD 2 by just unchecking the movie. I learned something new everyday lol.

Finally got ripit4me to work. Ripped entire dvd to HDD. It just took it a while to get thru 08_1 VOB.Decrypter and fixVTS and used Recode to open file and recode and burn it. I'll try DVDFab decrypter now. AnyDVD and CloneDVD worked also.
