problem with crackdown

Ok, I'm still using the old fashion way with the hotswap & get the SS file online & only the ss file, all my other burns work perfect, but with this game, it's given me 2 coasters already. When i put the game in the 360 it says "Please put in a 360 game" blah blah. I have a hitachi w/the maximus 2.3 stealth r2 fw. I think that's. it. I'm doing everything that was said to do, but I only have the SS file & not the other 2 files. Is there something else I'm doing wrong?

ok im working on the new basketball game and this has the same proplem as crackdown. I did everything like i was told. I even redid the framework and fixed that and nothing ive read this section over and over again but am i doing something wrong, it still freezes
i checked add video, and the two things under that.
things unchecked are the iso and create nmo. Am i not getting the ss pfi and dmi files right from xbox backup creater? i dont know please help im getting ready to pull all my hair out.

dude, i've read this over & over. Bumping to the top of the thread is not gonna help me do it right. I only download the SS file, am I suppose to be getting the other 2 files also?

if imreading this right you are but im still having proplems
to get tghe files im not sure if you go threw drive tools or image tools to get them so im a little lost

Thanks pushur, but i don't have the samsung dvd drive nor i'm using the 360 drive to do this, which means I can't use XBC. I use WXRipper to rip the game & then i just download the ss file & use ss merger to get merge, then i use imgburn to finish it up. I've had NO problems at all just getting the ss file, my question will be is for Crackdown, do i need the other PFI/DMI sector as well as the ss file? I've done this 2 times using this method & have 2 Verb coasters. I put it in the 360 & says "Please insert xbox 360 disc". Thanks anyone.

Ok, when trying this again, i got this message when I put the ISO in ss merger...(crackdown.iso is smaller than WxRipper style, but bigger than Xtreme Style. Do you know what needs to be done to correct this? Thanks JC

Hey bud I had your same problem. My solution was to go to the folder where the ssmerger .dvd file is being created and just keep hitting the refresh button - as you hit the refresh you should see a new .iso file increasing in size. Once it stops increasing in size go back to ssmerger and you will see it says "done".
I don't know why I had to do it this way but otherwise ssmerger would just freeze on me. Let me know if this works for you.

how about upgrading to xbc 2.4 and that will take care of everything and you wont have to use ssmerger?

I think he is asking a question not giving an answer. I don't know for sure but I assume it won't unless xbc integrated ssmerger into the program or at least did all the same stuff. But if its true please let me know. Otherwise I would use the method specified here.

How do you get the other two files? (PFI-DMI) And do you need the required ss file or will the ss alone work?

Disregaurd last post, I see that you got the files with xbc. Can xbc be used in the same way as wxripper?(with the disc swapping from dvd rom, or does it involve the use of the 360 itself?) Sorry if ? seems dumb, im just confused about xbc as I have never used it.

I placed my backup copy of Crackdown into the Xbox360 and it said it required an update in order for the game to work.
Does anyone know if this update affects the FW of the DVD drive as I still want the ability to play my backups.
