This is so amusing to me. (flame on)

I just hate it when people keep saying they heard this and heard that or can someone confirm it! Most of these people don't even read the manuals or information about their PS3 b4 trying to do something or asking the same newbie questions. If you read the information on the PS3, you will clearly find that a USB device will work on the PS3 (why do you think there are 4 USB ports) and the PS3 likes FAT32 (NOT TALKING LINUX, that another story). So if you want to connect a USB HARD DRIVE just format it with FAT32...end of that story. What file system is on a USB flash drive?? hmmmm

Now, when the so called newbies who want to do all the fancy stuff they have no business doing without further information....Installing Linux, running OtherOS's, WiFi, adding a larger HD to the PS3, trying to do mods and hacks...etc., etc., etc. Don't jump in the car if you don't know how to drive and never taken any lessons.

Read an entire thread first b4 making comments, learn to search the forums for more information to see if your questions have been answered and learn how to use "Google" search for crying out loud.

If just those basic 3 things are done by the so called newbies, life would be much smoother and less mis-information bounced around. (flame off)

We've gotten through the whole "Make PS3 recognize External HDD" part. What is important now is to have the PS3 recognize it AND be able to dump ISO's in there. Most games are over 4gb so FAT32 isn't really a viable option...
