Guys I need your help b4 downgrade! My PSP is PSP1000 bought from Japan. I only can update to 3.50 Sony firmware with 3.50 Japan update, not North America in Noobz's HOWTO text. But the update 1.50 link in that text is North America too. Can I use this Update for my downgrade or I need to find 1.50 Japan Update?

OMFG! I DON'T BELIEVE THIS!!!
I really didn't think they'd come out with this EVER! I sure pays to leave the interweb for a few days, and look what turned up! NOW I CAN DO HOMEBREW!!! I'm shedding a tear of excitement, but enough for now; I have to download the downgrader.
What was the exploit, BTW?

Is anyone going to post sticks to provide a guide for us newbs? I have the MS.Root folder in the root of the memory stick and when I go to start Lumines it doesn't work.

U take the folders from the MS_ROOT folder, not the MS_ROOT folder itself.

Sorry for post this again, but i can't stand anymore to try this downgrade. Can I use 1.50 North America Update with my Japanese PSP (PSP1000)? Someone really know about this can comfirm this for me plz!

Well, PSP IS region-free, I remeber there was some guy who downgraded a international PSP (PAL) with the North American Update (NTSC), so it would probably work.

Then why 3.50 North America update can't work with my PSP, only the 3.50 Japan Update worked?

Simple. Upgraders don't format flash, but overwrite them. In the flash, it tells the PSP that it is NTSC-J (PSP-1000), downgraders format flash, and the PSP would have no clue what region it is. The 1.5 update would re-write to flash with PSP-1001 files (North American).

#2: 1.00 -> 1.5 -> 3.03oe-c
#3: Ceramic white 1.5 -> 3.03oe-c -> 3.40oe
