I have the hello world, but I can't get the HEN program to work. I tried dropping "GAME", "HEN_350", and "Save Data" on the root of the memory stick. I also dropped those three files on to the PSP folder in the memory stick. Neither way works.

I did that both for downgrader and for the Lumines hello world. And then also already have the 1.5 update in the update folder. Should I take the Lumines hello world program out of the memory stick? I'm going to try that.

I live in the US. I was bored today, I did Network Update, and it said PSP Update ver 3.51. I didn't update like a fool, though.

well i guess sony's North American webby isnt updated yet...
but i still expect it to be there within 2 days.
New "Features": Security update, protects your system from malicious software"
roughly translated, i feel this says stops people from using the psp to full potential lmao.
if sony wasnt ready with security, they shouldnt have released it in the first place.

So, lemme get this straight; I need a file that activates the Illuminati exploit, the 3.50 HEN file, and the 1.50 Update file to successfully downgrade, or is the exploit file optional?

I finally got the 3.40 OE. And a learned lesson coming from a newb like myself is that you should always always always go to "System Settings" and "Format memory stick" and hit yes to format. That clears out all the junk from your memory stick that might interfering you from downgrading and changing firmwares.
I was struggling the past day trying to get the 3.50 hen, and i did everything right and it i couldn't the 3.50 hen until I started over and reformated the stick. I'd like to thank the only person i've seen to give me this tip over the past two days from youtube and makes a great 3.5 downgrader guide:
