Yes, and you can leave xmb at default, or it'll just run your battery down quicker than it needs to.

Hey, I have a PSP with FW 1.50 on it. I want to run .iso's. I really dont care too much about doing anything else with the PSP. I can run some older ISO's on my current PSP using UMDemulator but I get problems with newer ISO's.
I want to update to whichever custom firmware that will allow me to run the most ISO's with out problems. I have read that M33 3.52 would probably do the job, but personally I have no experience so im looking for advice. I also want to know if I can go straight from 1.50 to M33 3.52 or if I need to update to something like 3.10 first and then go to M33 3.52?
If someone could answer that question and provide an easy to use guide for installing I would really appreciate it because I am going out of town later today and want to bring the PSP.
Also message me on AIM s/n "blasestyle" if you can help me out.
Thanks

You're right there, M33 should run any game out. You can install it straight from 1.50.
Here you can find the 3.52 M33 update files.
You will also need the 1.50 EBOOT and 3.52 EBOOT files. You can get these here and here.
Ignore the instructions on the Sony website, just get the file from "Download procedure" step 3.
You will have to extract the 1.50 EBOOT file, but the 3.52 file is already extracted. Name the 1.50 EBOOT to 150.PBP and the 3.52 EBOOT to 352.PBP.
Firstly, open the 1.50only folder and copy over the kxploitpatcher and kxploitpatcher% folders over to ms0:/PSP/GAME/ and run it from your game menu.
Now take the M33CREATOR folder and place it on your PSP at this location: ms0:/PSP/GAME/
Now place both the 150.PBP and 352.PBP files into the M33CREATOR folder on your PSP.
You can now disconnect your PSP from your computer and run the update. After it has finished it will have created another icon on your PSP, run this, after that has finished you will have firmware 3.52 M33.
Make sure your battery charge is above 75% and/or has a charger plugged in before you do the update.

No, you have to go through 3.52 M33 > 3.52 M33-4 > 3.71 M33 / 3.80 M33

Just a note; if you're following the guide i posted above, then miss out the kxploitpatcher step, that is only for 1.50 users.
