well things must of not gotten that bad because you still have your internet, when thing get so bad that you can not aford food but you have the internet, do you have satalite tv? and as far as bankruptcy, that would be a no brainer! and for the gambling and the credit cards, all of the things that were done with that, it is all unsecured debit, so there is nothing they can take, also do you have a door on your room? if so spend $5.00 dollars on a lock and put it on, that way the cat's won't be pissing on your stuff, that was easy! so did you quit the apprentice at $9.00 an hour for 6 hours a day, 5 days a week? to take this job? Got a temp job at McCain(food processing plant) making $12/hr. Doing 20 hour weeks? and as far as a dirty house it is only as dirty as you want to live in it, everyone needs to do the job of cleaning not just one, like you say your mom works right? so why should after working all day thain come home and have to fix dinner for everyone, sounds like everyone is wanting one person to do all the work! it takes a family to work togeather to have a happy family, dose your dad know how to cook? do you know how to cook? if not you should learn, what will you do when you move out when you get out of school? i am sorry if it seems like i am comming down on you a little bit but that is life, and if anyone told you that life was easy they lied!!, i have raised two girls by myself, as a single parent working long hours, and it has not been easy, but i keep a clean house and we have two dogs two cats, the girls had stuff that they had to do, and they know how to cook because i taught them how, it is life skills, and now they are out of school and have there own places one has gotten maried and i have a grand child, my oldest is 29yrs old and the youngest daughter is 26 not married but is dating this guy for quite some time like three years, and they are talking about geting married sometime in the neer future. and they both have good paying jobs! as far as your dad, sounds like he is messed up good as far as body wise, and as far as dad plans to divorce my mom, sounds like he is not ready to let go yet! and i understand the love thing, the most common reason people get divorced is money, and screwing arround by one or the other, and you say your family has filed bankruptcy two times and you can only file once every seven years and you are still in school, and you most likley would not knowen about that when you were like five, so what you can learn about all of this is not to make the mistake that were made there. also do you have any family that can help you out? i meen i guess you and your dad could go live with your grandpa untill the big payout comes in! there is always a way out of your mess, but it is like this you have to be sick and tired of being sick and tired and when you get sick and tired of being sick and tired, you might do something about it! but it sounds like everyone has not gotten sick and tired enough! hope this helps good luck you are going to need it, also just wondering how many more years you got left of school?

I do dishes. I cook dinner. I pick up after animals. I buy groceries. I pay for internet. I drive my mom to support group. I clean the kitchen, the bathrooms, and the living room. I DO keep my room locked at all times. I WILL NOT leave my mom to go live with grampa.

I got the temp job because I need less stress. I go to school then work and I'm gone all day. 4 hours a day is better.

We are a family and we gotta stay together. Sometimes I need to vent my anger. Sometimes I wish they WOULD get divorced. But I don't mean it.

I'm 18 and I'm in my senior year. Already got into a technical college. Gonna start a business for PC repair.

I'm not ready for these kinds of responsibilities.

I'm tired of being poor.

I'm tired of giving up my paycheck every week to buy groceries.

I'm tired of fighting with my parents all the time

I'm tired of people assuming I'm stupid

I'm tired of people assuming I'm lazy.

I'm tired of going to a remedial school so I have time to work.

I'm tired of being labelled the school loser in a fricking remedial school.

I'm tired of my parents talking about selling the '71 Nova that we worked 12 years on.

I'm tired of the fricking credit card companies calling at all hours of the day and night.

I'm tired of having only 3 pairs of pants and 6 shirts to last me all week

I'm tired of people pointing out that I have the same pants on 2 days in a row

I'm tired of people at school trying to start fights with me

I'm tired of being a chain smoker

I'm tired of selling my PC parts so we can pay bills.

I'm tired of not being able to have friends over because there's no food.

I'm tired of said friends living 4 hours away.

I'm tired of being exhausted all the time

I'm tired of coming home and having just as much stress and grief as I do at work and school.

I'm just tired.

I know there are people who have it worse than me. But up until a few years ago, things were good. So I don't know if I should get used to it or if I should just move the heck out and never go back home.

I'm sorry that you are a single parent and you had to raise your kids alone. But I do want that to happen. If I have no job security I'm not having kids.

I haven't dated in a year and a half. So kids don't even come into the equation.

Sure, mom and dad get stuff done, but it usually seems like I'm the one stuck with everything.

You can call it whatever you want. You can tell me life isn't easy. I don't care.

Okay, I'll update later... lunch is over. I'ma go to work.

In fact. somebody tell me how to close this thread. Causing more stress than it relieves. If I'm around, I'm around. If I stop posting entirely, then you know the net is out too.

I certainly wouldn't have dug out this thread if I knew it would cause you more grief, and you know that. I think I speak for all of us when I say we wish you all the best.

I have lived on my own since I was 17. Went to school and worked so that I could pay for my car, apt, food. You can do it. Nothing is impossible.

Dude, they shouldn't be calling you at night. Report them Maybe you can file a lawsuit if they don't stop. CHA-CHING!!

Screw em..wtf does that matter? I got a good pair of pants that I wear three times out of the week, sometimes. Long as you don't mess your pants or piss em, who gives a darn.

I've been through a TON of bs throughout my life...things will get better, then they will get crappy again. Not going to lie about that. Life is what you make it. So when life throws lemons your way, make some lemonade!

Good luck my friend...

Estuansis... I just read though this whole thread, I'm sorry to hear about all this bro. No one should have to go through all this bull**it. I thought i had it tough, now I see how rough things can get... I'm not going to sit here and whine about my life because that is not fair to you. I wish there was someway I could help, unfortunately I'm out of ideas... I will be here for moral support though... Hope it all works out in the end.

If you're going into PC repair, then the carpenter apprentice deal wasn't that important. I see you realize the grocery job is a dead end but does better at paying for things in the present. Beware though, PC repair is an overcrowded profession and a lot of people are now doing repairs themselves. Those are all things you gotta work out for yourself.

If possible, I'd suggest moving out as soon as possible. It's better to move out and come back for a visit instead of staying to the point where hate overrides all your relations. The love-hate situation will drive you nuts. Any chance of hanging with the grandparents til you finish school? If you stay at home, do your share, but don't feel you have to carry the load for everyone.

One of those old sayings I remember is "Before judging, walk a mile in the other man's shoes". So, I'll not do any judging, since I've not been in a situation like yours. I did leave home early because of my father's death and the family having problems. After school I raised a family with the help of a wonderful woman (great wife and mother). My kids never knew what it was like to seriously do without. They're both raising their own families and realize what it means to be a parent. They still appreciate mom and dad.

Good luck.

More like service and parts. A PC Shop if you will.

No :) I think we'll be okay now. My dad went to Wausau today to talk to the lawyer. He wants my dad to get 5 signatures from his doctors, but he says it would be an easy win with just two.

We're selling the car this weekend to catch up on our house payment and buy some groceries until the court date. That's in 6 weeks. We're asking $18,000 minimum. The house payment will be $10,000. They're giving me $2000. I'm using some of it to go get clothes, socks, boxers and stuff. Then I'll use the rest to do some work on my van.

I'm really not sure we'll even sell the car at the Jefferson Auction. But it's something to look forward to :) It's a beautiful car with a lot of custom details. Somebody will want it.

/WOOT!

That's awesome man. I'd look into maybe investing a little bit of that money in something. Maybe putting a thousand dollars into some shares or something else that will make a quick turn around.

lmao! It's alright guys. I think we'll make it :P

Look at the bright side, I get today off :) But then I have to work tomorrow morning from 6-10am, so I won't be able to go see the car off. It's got sentimental value to all of us :(

It'll be nice if we get some money. The disability case seems like it's in the bag. The lawyer has assured us now that we will get our money. So that's comforting.

When I start to get some of my own money saved again, I'm going to be selling my 89 Chevy Astro van. I want something a bit newer and more economical. Thinking around the lines of a V6 chevy S10 or Dodge Ram. Maybe a Cavalier or a Ford Focus.

It's the classic case of fuel usage in the US mate. Even though fuel is $10 a gallon here, americans spend as much on it as we do!

I'M JUST GONNA BE BLUNT AND SAY IT: SEVENTEEN THOUSAND DOLLARS!!!

My dad took the Nova to Jefferson. He wasn't even there an hour and some guy just walked up and handed him $17,000 in cash!!!!!

We are not losing our house. We will not starve. I get to buy some clothes too :) Thank you for all the support :D

Things are really looking up for us now. The lawyer has pretty much guaranteed us a win for the disability case. We've got grocery money until then. We've caught up on the house payment. Mom is happy, Dad is happy(and also has sole possession of the money), I'm happy. It's all good :DDDDDDDDDDDDDDDD

No legs broken Neph. Don't jinx it ;)

EDIT: Again, thank you for all the support and prayers!!!!! We are not out of the woods yet, but the end is in sight. Wish us luck for when we go to court!!!!!!!
