DebB ,clonedvd + anydvd does this movie fine so most likely its your system. so what kind of PC are you running?

box system like HP, Dell etc sometimes have poor quality optical drives which can be the root of the problems transcoding etc.

try doing the movie only and see if that works also make sure the DVD is clean and scratch free.

the most up to date firmware for your drive/burner is a must too

Thank you for replying dialysis1 and ZoSoIV. You'll see I'm not real computer savvy here, I only know the very (very) basics.

I don't get an error message on Clone DVD2 - but I can try to explain what happens. I choose "Copy DVD Title" on the opening page of Clone, select "Video_TS" from the pull down menu and then the preview screen is just blank/black. Normally the movie starts playing. I copied it and it said it was successfully done in about 2.5 minutes.

When I tried playing it, it was all black.

My computer is a Gateway. I've tried copying it just the movie and then the entire disc - but I still get that blank/black preview screen on both. I'm using Verbs which I've used exclusively with no problems. This is the first time I've had a problem, never had any problems prior to this movie. The movie is new out of the case, no scratches.

I popped another movie in and tried and no problem, copied just fine.

I'd appreciate any help you can give! I may not know the answers to some of your questions, but if you can tell me how to find them, I'm happy to do that. Thank you!

DebB my guess since it does most movies fine its an optical drive problem. (have you tryed updating he firmware?)

will the movie play in your PC ?

about the only thing you can do is opt for a new optical drive that can read/transcode all movies. Pioneer drives are your best bet and only run about 30.00 dollars.

also make sure your burning the Verbatims at 8x max

other stuff to try:

do clean reinstall of both clonedvd 2 and anydvd

uninstall both programs
run CCleaner
do a disc cleanup
defrag
reboot
then reinstall both programs

heres a good guide to use clonedvd 2 + anydvd

I just backedup this film using latest version of any dvd running in the background. Along with dvd shrink. Use open disc on shrink and backup iso image to HD and burn with dvd decrypter and it worked like a champ. Good luck to u.

Again, thank you so much for helping with this ZoSoIV. No, I'm afraid that's beyond my capability..

Will this work okay since it's a paid for, I can simply uninstall and reinstall it (without paying again or something like that?)

defrag
reboot
then reinstall both programs

I was able to get Rambo copied last night using Clone DVD2 and AnyDVD.

When the Preview window opened on Clone, Title 12 was the only thing that was checked. I unchecked it and chose Title 1 and that did the trick.

Thank you ZoSoIV for all your help, I sincerely appreciate all the time you took!

lol i should of mentioned that the title you wanted was the one that was 131:27 and i didn't think about it sorry. glad you got it going though.

and yes you can uninstall and reinstall the progrmas as many times as you like , actually its a good idea to do a clean reinstall every now and then.just remember to save your keycodes that slysoft emailed you when you bought it to your HDD or a CD ,floppy etc.

Folks Anydvd has a fix for Lionsgate's Rambo (out next week). So backing up Rambo with shrink and Anydvd is going to be cake.
Can somebody tell me how can I get the "fix"? (I do not have internet at home). Can I get it some place and then install it somehow?

Thanks guys

... using RipIt4Me (v?), AnyDVD v6.3 & DVD Shink v3.2 ... couldn't get the whole disk copy to work (got to 99% after 17+ hours! ;->>), even tried upgrading AnyDVD w/ no luck. ended up backreving AnyDVD to my old ver (6.3), and doing movie "only", and worked like a champ!

it's got nothing to do w/ ver's, from what i can tell ... you just gotta do movie only (like someone stated earlier in the thread), that is ... w/ the software "i'm" using ... sounds like Clone & others are doing full disk ...

just my 2¢'s worth! ;->>>

At this point, as long as the programs used are up-to-date...there should be zero problems with this title.

Not only this one, but the vast majority....this would apply to future new releases as well.

There appears to be quite a lot of contradictory information on this thread. Some people have tried the latest updates of certain software and still can't copy Rambo. And yet others claim to have copied it with virtually anything.

I can't speak for the region 1 version, but the region 2 version of Rambo has new protection and will not copy with Ripit4me or the latest version (5.0.3.0.) of DVDfab. Believe me, I've tried. And before anyone mentions it, I do not need to clean the disk or update the firmware on my drives.

Check again. It's most current version is 5.0.4.5.

Many thanks for that, 7thsinger. I have just checked the DVDFab site and they have posted an update 5050 (although the history notes don't specifically mention Rambo). I will try it when I get time.

My question is not 100% on topic but has to do with something mentioned here so maybe you guys won't run me off:) dialysis1 mentioned errors and correcting manually, other than running FixVTS after ripping with DVDFab, how does one go about discovering these errors and correcting them manually?
