Noob needs help Flashing Xbox, up for a challange? [page 3/4]

i tried to install portio32 by deleting it manually and copy and pasted it in the file c:/system32/drivers but couldnt from add hardware it automatically installed my driver again but if i delete the drivers how am i going to use the sata card and it still cannot detect my drive!?

You need to install the portio32 from the add a hardware wizard. Don't put that into the system32/drivers folder. The viamraid.sys is for the RAID part of the VIA card. Once you have portio32 installed, you will be able to detect your drives through Jungle Flasher. Actually just dont worry about installing portio32 manually, just run the automatic installer.

i have done that and deleted viamraid, it has detected my drive finally but anytime i open up jungleflasher it freezes my computer even with or without my ck3 connected i even disconnected the ck3 fully it still freezes whenever i open up the jungleflasher program, why is this?

i hate it when people post their stuff in other peoples threads...

well what is the main thing i need to actually use the spear. where can i get it, and how much will it cost.

ok i pretty much skimmed it, and used the ctrl+f thing to find the things i wanted to. nobody asked what and if they needed anything special to power the spear or probe. and now im in the dark about this and nobody will help me. i have a question for the senior members and moderators...did you guys goto college for this stuff? cause i cant see how you can learn all this from experience, either way i didnt nor could i since im still in high school and i dont exactly get the best grades around. so a little knowledge passed down here would be nice.

I have 2 unmodded xbox 360's. They're staying unmodded and i know very little about 360's, but if i did want to mod one or both i'd simply read the stickied threads and a few of the long-running threads. If i still had any questions i'd just do some googling and am confident i'd be up and modded in no time. The answers are all here for the finding, they just need a bit of patient reading. I only got into the old type xboxes back in November 2007, all it took to softmod and customise my first xbox was some reading of a few stickied threads and a bit of patience and lots of fiddling.

Anything to do with PC's and games consoles can be achieved by even non-tech minded people, it's all down to reading the (free) advice..

ok from what ive seen, i need the "Xtractor" and that costs $45. i was under the impression that this whole deal would be 50 or less, not $100. now what i need to know is what items do i need for the procedure. i have

Via Chipset and cables
lite-on drive
Spear
now ordering the Xtractor

now if theres anything else i need i would like to know now before i think about just buying a modded xbox. cause thats what this is costing me!

LOL are ur V somethings DVD+R DL discs? U need a dual layer burner too to brun games once u get flashed.

all u need now is the software to do the flashing and such. use one of the many tuts around here and they will guide u to these things.

Sorry for double posting but i wanted to make sure this didnt go unnoticed. creaky i have reviewed the rules and there are no rules regarding grammar and the way a person must type. So i have to ask was this a complaint you recieved from someone? or was it simply "annoying" to you.

It's not annoying (or illegible) to me in the least, i understand it fine, all the moderators are the same, we like posts to be legible for all. If i'm honest text speak and all lowercase comes across as lazy, plus people don't take the info seriously when it's not written 'correctly', i know i don't.

Even if something is not specifically in the rules, the moderators here take pride in keeping the site clean and pleasant for the majority, unlike many sites out there that allow foul language and many other things that we don't tolerate here.
It's nothing personal, we just think of how public this site is and moderate it accordingly.

edit- Very little goes unnoticed by me, i'm subscribed to over 33,000 threads, i lurk far more than i post in :)

Well you are correct it is lazy and thats why I do it. Cause i am usually at work posting or I am simply a lazy typer/Laptop keyboards suck. I will try to be more proper in the future or refrain from posting untill I have the time to edit properly. But i guess there is no chance or getting a spellcheck with an autocorrect feature eh? If it wasnt for outlooks checker I would probably have been fired a year ago lol.
I have noticed you tend to lurk more than post. So to that i have a quesiton...Does the xbox 360 side of the forum have a dedicated Mod assigned to it or do you guys just float around checking everything out? IF there isnt a dedicated mod in place would you be interested in such a thing. I only ask cause i would love to see the tutorials section a little more fleshed out than what it is, and also maybe made to be more obvious to the forum noobs and noobs in general that the ultimate sticky is more than just a place holder.

Oner is the console forum mod and the rest of us float around i guess. I don't (purely to not having modded a 360) know enough of the detail in the tutorials to do anything with them so your best bet would be to send a PM to Oner, though he's away for a bit at the mo.
The ultimate sticky placeholder idea came about due to too many forums (mainly console forums) having so many stickies that there were more stickies than posts on the first page of some of them. So i very much doubt the ultimate sticky idea will change but any ideas you might have feel free to PM them (to Oner, sorry Oner!).

And on that note i won't derail this thread any further, apologies to the OP :)

Well not much may go unnoticed by you, but some does. and that some is me, unless you noticed and didnt care. but i need to know if i need anything else because i heard that if you half flash it then it might F it up forever. then your left with something to do with a hammer and a little spare time.
