Is it just me or does there seem to be more people than usual sprouting off about their piracy activities lately???

Agreed. I am getting a little disillusioned to be honest. I am seriously considering taking a less active stance & brushing up on my lurking techniques. Perhaps the matter will be taken out of my hands though, cos at this rate the place will be closed down before long. Well theres always Doom9 I suppose.

This site isn't going to get closed down. Those asking about piracy either get warned, banned or not helped at all. It's a fact of life and will never go away. I went through my "kill 'em all" phase where I just had to respond to every post about piracy but any more I just leave them be unless it's to good to pass up. Someone else going through their "kill 'em all" stage will get them :)
If this site was seen as continually helping people with that sort of thing then we should worry but that isn't the case.

Though I agree with the ban on aiding piracy, it's worth mentioning that the P2P area certainly does not discourage it. Not to mention the topics on creating DVD backups. Certainly there are legitimate uses for both topics, and Afterdawn is not responsible for what you choose to do with that information. But let's face it, people use them to commit piracy.

I was just wondering if all of the MODERATORS on this site actually have read the rules lately. Especially "Rule 6 NO FOUL LANGUAGE". Im sorry to say this but it appears to be a classic case of "Do as I say, not as I do".
Im not a prude, I can swear & curse for England!!, but I try to control my language on this site. There are times i feel like throwing a wobbler on this site but i step back & count to ten.

In the Safety value zone potty mouth if justified is ok. Atleast that is my take on this section. EVERY WHERE ELSE IT IS NOT ACCEPTED!!
So if you see someone mouth off, in this section then they might be just blowing off steam. If in other sections then they might get banned. Thats the point of this section.

I have to admit that I didn't read the rules when I signed up, but then again I lurked for like 3 months before signing up and then one more month after signing up. The first time I even knew that there were rules here was when a Mod blasted someone about piracy and that guy was just being a dumb ass.
