- for New Users of KAZAA / Kazaa-Lite / Diet Kazaa

_KAZAA_

I wanted to give this a try - See if it helps everyone looking for answers regarding the specific topic of KAZAA *

Please fee free to post your questions &
information about Kazaa here -

Hopefully NEW USERS of KAZAA will be able
to get their basic information here - and
this thread can grow with NEW information
as time goes on *

Here is a link with BASIC INFO to help out
new users ~

http://www.kazaa.com/us/help/new_user.htm

NOTE * If you are downloading KAZAA for
the first time - I suggest You CAREFULLY
READ and CHECK or UN-CHECK boxes of anything
You want or don't want INSTALLED with your first installation of KAZAA *

They give You a choice - and Many people
simply don't take the time to 'NOT CHOOSE'
extra packaging within their first
installation *

_KAZAA-LITE_

If you are NEW to KAZAA - Please learn
the above information before questioning
KAZAA-LITE *

- For KAZAA users interested in KAZAA-LITE - ( Kazaa-Lite is the KAZAA file sharing
program - You make a few changes within the systems programs and if all works correctly you can have KAZAA without the ADS and what some refer to as SPY-WARE )

Personal note * I myself do not use K-LITE,
I have version 1.7.2. of KAZAA and LIKE IT
very much -

I have been told by some ex Kazaa-Lite users that they could never get K-LITE to
work correctly on their computers -
'BUGS' (mistakes) sometimes occur after
trying to convert KAZAA to Kazaa-lite *

To be fair, I have also been told by
some users of KAZAA-LITE that they love it
and have had no problems.

Again, I myself use regular KAZAA (version
1.7.2) and only see a pop-up AD a few times a day - and sometimes never *

Here is a LINK that I have found very
informative on K-LITE ~

http://kazaalite_69.tripod.com/kazaa/
( Thanks to CandyMann_69 - for the info )

NOTE * If you are downloading KAZAA for
the first time - I suggest You CAREFULLY
READ and CHECK or UN-CHECK boxes of anything
You want or don't want INSTALLED with your first installation of KAZAA *

They give You a choice - and Many people
simply don't take the time to 'NOT CHOOSE'
extra packaging within their first
installation *

- Hope this helps out -

Edit message

_ For anyone who has just installed the newest
version of KAZAA and doesn't want it - But
wants an older version ... just SEARCH out
an older version using Kazaa Search -
Then install and use the older version *

I personally like KAZAA version 1.7.2.

You can search it as ( KAZAA kmd172 )
- search for software

--- I'm posting this because I've had friends
tell Me that the newest version is not always letting them download as fast as version 1.7.2. *
That's why I am keeping version 1.7.2.
right now and not updating ~

GOOD LUCK ~

1. Open kazaa and click "MY Kazaa"

2. Click the import folders button (the folder with the downwards arrow beside it.

3. Click Folder list and search through folders and untick anything you dont want shared and they wont appear in kazaa anymore

OR

If they simply put the files in the "My Shared Folder" then move them out of it and they wont be listed in kazaa anymore.

Did you ever hear of http tunnel?? Basicall its a program that will setup a proxy server on your computers and will direct traffic using it through port 80. However, this program is really slow so you're best off to sign up for a high bandwidth service from them.

You can find the program at http://www.download.com

Kazaa was 100 % Great for 1 year ago but now it is SHIT because there is so many users that have so many SHIT files and thay are not working can there be a rate user info so a user can giv a user 0-10 points for his files so another user can se that this user have 100 % god/working files or 100 % shit/fake files

Yep, Kazaa sucks! eDonkey2000, Direct Connect & IRC are much more reliable!

Hey, I skimmed the FAQ pages and the 1st page, and didn't see my question, so I'll ask it. Apparently, there's some sort of bandwidth limit (81) on all my downloads, is there anyway to raise this? If so, how?

The only kazaa limit i'm aware of is the birate limit which limits mp3's to 128kbit/s but thats easily defeated using kazaa lite.

As for a bandwidth limit, this would be set by your isp so I dodn't think there could be a way for you to raise it!

Tunneling works but with that program you would need to sign up for a fast server instead of a free one to get a decent speed. Even at that it still wouldnt be great!
