I've checked my memory card and the config file is like 5 kb. If i redo the exploit will i need the hd loader disk? Can i just do it with the burnt cd-r that installs the exploit onto the memory card? And do you know why this happened? Just so i can explain it to make her stop feeling bad about it.

whatever... make her feel bad.
actually i dont know why that would happen. other than files being deleted. maybe one of those blocks on the memory card that said "corrupt folder" or something got deleted but was actually some system file that the exploit needed. and the config file should be around 1000KB+ depending on what you have with your exploit
if you have a ModChip in your system that can read burnt CD-r then yes you can. but normally NO. or hell no. whichever one drives the message home. just do the exploit the same way you did it before. or if you had someone else do it, then let me know so we can go over there like the mafia and threaten to break some fingaz and legs if it doesn't get redone.

nevermind about that. i finally ran HDL from my usb drive and guess what? it worked. i'm not excited about it or nothing, just thought i'd let someone know that it works. you know, for those who have trouble doing whatever.
i think my usb sticks are uncompatible with my ps2 so i purchased a 64mb usb stick from draxter which says usb stick specially for ps2.. i might receive him tomorrow. ill let u know if it will work.. and i just wanted to minimize the times that i swap discs. if i can run hdloader.elf from my usb stick automatically then all i need is to put SM3.3 and automatically load hdl and choose my game

swapping discs?? the only time i need to swap anything is when i am loading cheat codes. do the exploit!!!!!
the exploit will eliminate the need to keep swapping discs (unless you're using cheat codes like me)
ULaunchElf is my loading prg. i use that to launch whatever elf files i have. then i set HDL as my default so it loads up automatically after 5 seconds (unless i want to do something else like cheat codes)

i wouldn't think that it'd be hard to find a ps1 cd somewhere, but whatever. no, i don't launch from usb, so i cant give any instructions on that stuff. it could prob'ly be done with a mod chip, but i don't have one. i just use the ps1 cd to trigger my exploit. ULaunchElf is just my loading program (on memory card) that runs everything else either from hdd or mc. if you're gonna use swap magic, then you should find a tutorial on how to use swap magic as your trigger cd. i don't even know if that's possible. i never had swapmagic so i didn't bother reading about it. www.exploitstation.com or www.ps2hd.com afterdawn might have something on it too.

CD. it triggers the exploit, and you have to have a loading prg, like launch elf to run everything else. check out the other sites to see what you can do with your swap magic.

Okay. I just burned 3 exploit cds and none of them seem to work with Gameshark 2.0 I turn on my ps2, put in the gameshark cd, and select start game w/o codes. Then I use my slide card and push the pin to the right, swap the gameshark disc for my exploit, push it back in and lock it with the pin. I press x on the controller and everything just freezes. I've spent hours reading up on forums and everything and found nothing except maybe trying to boot cdloader or cogswaploader then my exploit cd. Does anyone know the exploit won't install? And what is cogswap/cdloader and where can i get it? Can i download it and burn it instead of buying it?

sorry that i cant explain why it wont install, the only thing i can come up with is that you're not following the tutorials 100% and doing something wrong.
cogswap/cdloader is just not gonna do you any good, UNLESS YOU CAN RUN ELF FILES. otherwise you'd just be spinning your wheels and going nowhere. what it is, is a program that allows you to play backups (or burned discs) yes you should be able to download and burn it.
i think that you should try to make an HDLoader swap disc. you will need to follow the tutorials to do that. but along with that hdl, you will need to make an exploit installer iso as well. i dont know how to do these things, and i cannot help you with them (not much anyway). what you would do is, do what you need to swap in the HDL, and somehow get the exploit installer iso to run FROM hdl. i sound like a crazy man talking crazy mess. but something is possible for you. i just cant really help you with much since i dont have the same tools.

Well... I just got a new ps2 (finally XD). It's a Slim and I already taped the mobo sensor and made lil' cardboard tabs for the other two. It runs with the lid on or off so that's all good. But every time I try to run my GameShark v2 to load the exploit installer, It just freezes after GameShark finishes loading. It doesn't even get to the point where it loads up the code list off the shark memory card thing. It worked fine on my chubby Ps2 before it broke... Would it be cheaper to get SwapMagic or buy a GameShark v2 or AR from ebay or something? or are there solderless modchips that are inexpensive? What do you guys reccomend?
Who does dis guy be? I don't no, just run awae!

i say get a codebreaker. i think that if you get that and a flash drive, you should be able to load some kind of exploit installer onto the flash drive, and use code breaker to run it as if it was a codebreaker file. try www.sksapps.com for the files you need.

you would need to read tutorials on ES or PS2HD or even afterdawn. look for exploit installer with retail HDL. it would be something like create an iso, and install it with some program, like winhiip. but you have to put the ps2hdd onto your pc to do all of that. it's not hard methods, but sometimes we just dont have the resources.

i can easily put my ps2hd in my comp, so all i have to do is install the exploit iso as a game and run it off ps2? Right, or more than that?
thanks

actually that sounds right.
i think it should ask questions or do something else. have you started the process?? make sure you have your PS1 trigger CD as well. THAT is crucial.

Ok, i have 2 possible trigger disks so i am ok. But on one guide i read it said to install FTP on the ps2 and then upload the files to it via a pc? Is this the way to go?
Thanks

that is for IF and only IF you really want to do that. some people dont have the capability. if you do and you want to, then that is fine. but if you dont mind putting the ps2 HDD on your computer, then go for it. what tutorial site are you using? ES or ps2hd?
uhhhmmmmm how will you install FTP on the ps2 in the first place?? that does not seem like the way to go. winhiip and retail HDL will make a way.

if you can already hook up the PS2 HDD to your PC, skip over the network installation. my opinion says that it's more of a hassle. if you STILL have to put the drive on your PC, why not just dump the exploit installer to the drive with winhiip instead of having to install a bunch of things?? but hey, do what you want.
