A RAR file is kind of like a ZIP file. Surf to www.shareware.com and look for (and install) WinRAR. The trial is 15 days which is enough time to extract the installation file.
A little off-topic now, but dont uninstall WinRAR after the 40 day trial, it will always work.

Hi, just got a v360.
JanaO, which version of MPT did you install? and which phone model did you choose? (you said v360 wasn't on MPT's list)

How does megaupload site work? I can't find the download link in this site: http://www.megaupload.com/?d=6HHH2964
Do I have to register there, or there's a download link and I'm blind?

vanj,
You have to wait 45 seconds and then you could download. (A download button will pop up ;)

Enjoy!

Was wondering if someone could give me some advice on a Razr V3 with Bluetooth connection. I've been able to do the following:

1) Upgrade MPT to v4.04 (so it has a Razr Vx option)
2) Create a profile for my old phone (a v505) and have MPT recognize the v505
3) Check the modem section of Devices and see that the bluetooth device is working properly
4) Make a bluetooth - bluetooth connection between my Razr and v505

I cannot, however, get MPT to recognize my Razr. I've tried 25 times, making the Razr discoverable...but to no avail. Weird, considering that I can get my bluetooth phones to recognize each other and I can get MPT to recognize my v505.

Any suggestions? (short of "get a USB cable!")

Thanks in advance!

ok...raerae39 can call me a jerk for not reading the previous threads on this topic...but there are 30 pages of them!....I just bought a motorola Razr L6...I downloaded the mobile Phone Tools that I got from a link somewhere on this thread...anyway...doesn't recognice my phone I guess cause its farely new. But when I make a ringtone it tells me that its not the proper format. I know my phone can use mp3's..its also an mp3player..so that's a given...why would it tell me it cant transfer the file its a invalid file type. Second...now I can't get the program to recognize ANY song files on my computer...when I click in my music folder it shows nothing.

Hey guys. I've got my phone (motorola v635) to work with PhoneTools, but here's my question. Since this phone does have a memory card, is there a way to switch it so that my data is sent from my pc to my memory card instead of to the phone's hard drive? Thanks.

To Kelxin,
Hi you mentioned a download site for MPT as if there are many available that you know of. Well I am having a bit of trouble getting this software down, could you post a comprehensive list of the sites that you discovered resently? Hoping that mere quantity of options will increase my chances. Actually I would rather an earlier (smaller version) like 2.x. Have a great day

I am using Mobile Phone Tools 3.25b with Motorola A780. When I connect my phone to my PC using bluetooth and start the programme it gives an error message: "Please check that your bluetooth device is connected and that your bluetooth software is activated." When I click the cancel button, the programme window appears and starts working. How can I eliminate the error message?

Also, I do not find the Mobile Explorer in the programme although the help file says that it is there.

Can somebody help me?

For those who have mobile phone tools already installed, and working... I realized that if you got to setup and change modem, or change device, and look on the list of phones... you may see an alternate listing of ur phone. try that and it may work. for me i have a motorola E815 and I changed my deive from e815 to e815b on the list and now it enables me to to everything, including sending and receiving audio and video files, from my computer to mobile phone, or vise versa...

ps i do not recomend this too much becuause i noticed my phone would act wiered at times, like restarting without my command, and sometimes freezing, you can do damage to ur phone so try this at ur own risk...

I have t-moble razer v3, bluesoleil BT adapter, cable and mpt 3.23. I can connect through bluetooth, and upload/download videos/pictures/audio But not connect to MPT. Using the usb cable, I could connect, but never went beyond that since using blue tooth was more convenient. A few days ago, MPT wanted to update it self. I do not know to which version it went, but after the update, I started downloading pictures via the cable when in the middle of the process it lost connection to the phone. No no matter what I do, I cannot connect the phone to MPT via the usb cable? I want to do this to back up my address book. Any ideas? BlueSoleil is not connected or working when this happens, yet I get an error that device is in use by another process?

Hey guys, I just got the Motorola A630 and I've also got MPT3.11h. Now the problem is that everytime I load MPT and it asks me to connect, I connect it and then the "installing" clock the goes on for a while and then it just changes to the phone (default phone) and then it "intialises" forever.

I bought Razr V3 from Cingular and tried to get it to work with Mobile PhoneTools v3.11-v3.41 using the USB cable and it would not connect. I bought a Kensington Bluetooth USB adapter and install the driver. "Partnered" it with the Razr by running the discover routine on both at the same time. The Razr only broadcasts for 60secs but that was enough time for them to see each other. Now that the bluetooth partnership was established, I selected "bluetooth connection" in Mobile PhoneTools and it connected! I was able to see the phone directories, copy photos off the phone, edit and transfer some mp3 ringtones. It recodes your mp3s to a phone-friendly bitrate.
I will try v4 of MPT to see if it will connect using the usb but for now the investment in a bluetooth adapter was well worth the expense.

What connection did you do with the kensington adapter. I am using Soleil Bluetooth adapter. Using that I can browse my images, audio and video on the phone. But MPT refuses to connect through bluetooth. For anything else, I have to use the USB cable. I tried pairing for file transfer as well as DUN.
