Quote: This is the fastest download link that I've found so far....
http://evanzhang.com/mpt323.exe
It's version 3.23, and so far it's let me update to 4.04... Origonally I was running 2.12 and updating from there, but that is such a pain in the ass every time. I found this thread and it motivated me to look for a direct download to a newer version so I thought I would return a contribution.
use this link as it's much faster. i hate megaupload.

Can anyone tell me if it cost money everytime you transfer a file from the computer to my cell phone via BlueTooth? And one last question, Does it cost per minute when you go on mobile internet?

It costs absolutely no money to transfer files to your phone via bluetooth. However, the mobile web depends on your service provider. For example, mine charges 1 cent per kilobyte downloaded. Many service providers offer packs that set a static price per month for unlimited mobile web. You should ask your service provider how they bill you.

Thanks for the info.
But one last question, In order to use bluetooth to transfer file to my phone I have to have a computer that is BlueTooth enabled too right? So there is no way to get my DELL to be capable of this?

Just go buy a USB bluetooth adapter! :p Bluetooth doesnt have to be internally integrated.

Would it be possible to use a service like AOL or netzero using a cable or BT adapter to dial out using the phone? Would it then count against the unlimited minutes we have instead of the per kb transfers?

Hi guys, i'm new here.. i used the following link to download MPT:
http://evanzhang.com/mpt323.exe
however, after just beginning the installation it asks for a CD that is supposed to have the following file (or something along these lines):
layout.bin
Is there any way around this? I know someone asked this question in one of the earlier pages, and Mossy provided a link for that file, however, the Link is not active anymore, the page does not come up.. Any help would be greatly appreciated.. thank you
i have a v3c and use XP home

Riddle me this. What would cause my computer and MPT to recognize that my phone is connected (via USB) for only about a 30 second period, after which it says that my e815 has disconnected?
I was able to transfer one mp3 to the phone but after that the phone just keeps disconnecting and in order to get MPT to recognize it again I have to unplug it from the cable or the usb from the computer and replug it in.
Anyone know what would cause this? or what I could do to resolve this?

I read about 20 pages of this thread. I downloaded MPT today from this link http://rapidshare.de/files/3221238/Moto_3.23.rar.html everything worked fine. it updated to version 4.0.4b, no problem. detected my razrv3c,USB connected, after closing the found new hardware wizard twice. Thing is though MPT won't give me the option to install pictures, or ringtones. Is this a veriz##n thing?and if so how do I get rid of it. Or is Motorola trying to get me to spend $19.95 for the Deluxe Software? Also, I ordered my USB cables from http://www.itrimming.com/ I ordered the cable for the RAZR, a cable, and 2 batteries for an LG VX3200. $28.00 delivered to my door. both cables came with useless drivers that wouldn't work. MPT had the driver for the Razr once the program updated to v 4.0.4b

O.K., I just answered half of my own question. If you Have MPT v 3.11 or higher, you are on the deluxe version. If there is an 'l' at the end of your version it's the light. So because MPT is'nt giving me the option for pictures and ringtones, and the deluxe version supports the Vc3, I assume it's a carrier trying to generate revenue by cutting off user installed media. Anyone know a way to disable that feature? Here is the URL for the MPT info http://www.bvrp.com/customers/Motorola/upgrade/US/ it also boasts a download for problems with bluetooth devices.

i FOUND THIS LINK TO MAKE IT POSSIBLE TO TRANSFER PICS/RINGTONES TO MY VZW RAZR V3C http://howardforums.com/showpost.php?p=6507767&postcount=18 IN NOTEPAD, YOU NEED TO TYPE IN THE NAME OF THE FILE YOU NEED TO MODIFY. MAKE THE CHANGE, AND YOUR DONE. 2 MINUTES LATER, I WAS PUTTING CUSTOM MADE RING-TONES AND PICS INTO THE PHONE. aLSO THE LINK I POSTED FOR MPT WORKS. AFTER IT LOADS, YOU MAY NEED TO RUN THE UPDATE 4 TIMES TO GET TO VERSION 4.0.4B. AFTER THAT, IT SHOULD RECOGNIZE THE rAZR V3C.
