Try uninstalling the program then re-install it. That's what I did when that happened to me. :)

Are you tring to back up a recent Sony/Columbia release with newer copy protections based on unreadable sectors? Shrink has not been updated to handle these. Check to see what other programs are running and stop all but those that are esential. Check the drive properties to see if DMA is enabled AND that drive is actually functioning in DMA mode, not PIO. These are the most common causes of slow performance of recent onset.

what you mean "After I decrypt a movie and then I open Shrink" ??
are you using something else first,before DVD Shrink to remove protection?
if so,get yourself a copy of clonedvd2 and AnyDVD,and give them ago
you will never use DVD Shrink again

I use dvd decrypter to remove the protection, then I use shrink to analyze and to encode, then nero to burn. Im and trying to copy heartbreak ridge made by warner brothers. I have uninstalled it a few times and it still does the same?

As Stan said, check your drives in your windows system under control panel. I bet your in PIO mode not DMA. If in PIO, uninstall,ignore the warnings and reboot. You will come back in DMA. When windows reaches X amount of errors, it can default to PIO mode. Has happened to me on occasion.

Vtech99,
How do you use Decrypter to remove the protection before using shrink? I've opened up the Decrypter, do I need to change some settings to remove the protection prior to using Shrink
Please advise,
Thanks

when decryptor is open the mode tab above should be on File generally if the movie isn't cracked right shrink will not even analyze.

@vtech
Have you checked your DMA settings? DMA should be on for all drives. Here is a guide: http://forums.afterdawn.com/thread_view.cfm/260038
Did you get any errors when ripping with DVD Decrypter? That being an older movie, DVD Decrypter shouldn't have any problems with it unless it is scratched or dirty. Deep Analysis should only add about 10 minutes to the encode, the AEC controls however can add a signifacant amount of time.
@richdyke
The default settings should be fine for older movies.
