With shrink 3.2.0.15 (latest version?), I'll custom compress the menus and additional info and drag the slde to the left to make them highly compresed. I leave movie at auto compression ratio.

It runs through the backup, prompts me for a DVD and when I insert a blank DVD+R, it says it can't fit the compilation in there. I have to rerun the backup, change the movie to cutom compression then slide that down a little bit to make the total size something a bit less than 4464 MB. this doesn't happen all the time, but enough to be a nuisance. Anyone have recommendations? If the movie is left at auto compresion, shouldn't it make sure the compilation should fit? These are all brand new, blank DVD+Rs (verbatim). after redoing the backup, those same DVDs it said were too small will work OK (so there wasn't data on them before?!

shrink it to a file on your hard drive rather than burn it straight off, then if it needs more compression you dont need to re run the back up as it is already stored on your hard drive. sometimes shrink will not allow you to compress anymore than it already has automatically done, so in theses cases you need to shrink once & put the files on your hard drive, then shrink those files again.
