On newer DVDs --Sahara--King's Ransom I get an error message using DVD Shrink 3.2 stating that the data is too large for the DVD Disk.
I was able to copy using a double layer disk but these cost $3.00 compared to 30 to 40 cents for regular disks. Anydvd did not seem to help. Anyone have a solution?

Well, since your intentions are to burn it to a DVD5, make sure the target size is set to 4300 (you'd be surprise how many people forget to do that). If you're still getting the red bar at the top (too big for Shrink to compress), run it through VOBblanker. That should take care of all the dummy cells and stuff like that. I just did this last night for a WWE disc. It didn't say it, but the red bar was at the top in Shrink. I ran it through VOB and then when I did it with Shrink again, there wasn't any problems.

@alexdana

Here's what you need to do to solve the "red bar" aka "not compressable error". This is a typical ARccOS protection.

<> rip the movie via the latest from DVDFAB Decrypter 2.9.7.0 or the latest
<> PROCESS your VIDEO_TS.IFO file through VobBlanker 2.1.0.0
<> transcode/compress with DVD Shrink and now the rest is history

*NOTE: basically if you don't want to (or don't know where to) blank out using VobBlanker, then all you need to do is (1) set your input folder = where your ripped VIDEO_TS folder from hard drive, (2) output folder = make a new folder of VIDEO_TS folder, you will need to "transcode/compress" this new VIDEO_TS file with DVD Shrink later and (3) click PROCESS. That's it, sit tight and wait until VobBlanker process and filter out any dummy cells, fake pgcs or cells, left over encrypted sectors, etc. VobBlanker should take roughly 10 - 15 minutes only (depends on your computer specs).

If you need more info or helps on how to use VobBlanker, then look at the link under my sig for my "VobBlanker + DVDFAB Decrypter method". I've tested and sucessfully ripped and backed up all of the latest new released without any issues whatsoever.

Good luck!!

@Mr_Pink

Actually you don't necessary need to customize to 4300MB only. I've done tons and tons (hundreds of movies) with 4400MB - 4440MB using top notch media like Taiyo Yuden, Verbatim and Hitachi's Maxell and I've never experienced any issues during playback.

WARNING: Do not "update/upgrade" your SAMSUNG BD-D5XXX series (Bluray Player), or else you cant enjoy any of your movie files.
