OK, quite some time ago I compared the movie Gladiator in quality using Dvdshrink and Clonedvd (older version).
It was very apparent that Shrink did a better job at that time. With all of the new protections coming up AnyDvd is looking to be a vialble option. Purchasing CloneDvd2 is only a couple extra bucks.
My question is this: Has anybody switched from Shrink to Clonedvd2? Is the quality up to par with Shrink? I really like compressing the extras to make more room for the movies, and will Clonedvd2 do this too??
Please help me decide as I have a large project (27 dvd's) coming up and want the best quality.

clonedvd2 has shrink beaten in the following: speed, updates, and the handling of new movies.
shrink beats clonedvd2 in the quality output.
Nero Recode2 or Shrink using deep analysis and AEC/ fabdecrypter or anydvd running in the background/ IMGBurn to burn/main movie only mode= perfect.

May I mention also that DVD Shrink is freeware and Clone DVD 2 you have to pay for.

I've not used CloneDVD , however I have used DVDFab Platinum (express mode) , I didn't really like it though, the quality did seem a little poor. Tis why I stick with DVD Shrink , the copy protection issue(s) can be solved by running the ripped movie through VOB Blanker...

Yes I know Shrink is free, but Clonedvd2 burns in about half the time. The main question is the picture quality. I am probably going to have to buy AnyDVD to do my movies ( from Australia) and a little extra to boot to get Clonedvd2. A couple of years ago I tried it and it basically sucked. I am a die hard shrink fan, but also open minded to newer stuff.

Thats what i am getting at here as far as the quality. I tried it a while ago and it totally sucked as far as picture quality. That is what really sold me on shrink. I also do the whole movie (kids like previews) and I can compress those in shrink to save the actual picture quality. I would like to try the newer Nero product, supposed to be written by the author of shrink. Is this any faster than shrink?

@so2315 Does that mean you have an older version of Nero like 6.6? AnyDVD works fine with Nero Recode and is easy to use. AnyDVD works with Shrink also. I just bought AnyDVD and not Clone . There is a free ripper DVDFab decrypter. I have used shrink and Recode and I prefer Recode just my preference, I can burn on the fly with Nero.

Doesnt AnyDVD run in the background....thus it would work with SHRINK or any other program you use...I've only used clone once or twice for movies shrink wouldnt do.

for my purposes, it has been very hard to beat Shrink and AnyDVD...i don't even bother with the competition anymore.
