dvd shrink wont open decrypter files ?

hi - i am curious if anyone knows why would dvdshrink not open a dvd files that was just ripped to the harddrive with decrypter ?
says it cant open it and gives a error - then i tried dvdclone to open it and try to compress it and it gave me a error somewhere in the middle - the movie was 8mm 2 - i tried a few things - i used the built in ripper with anydvd and it ripped it to the hard drive and then shrink couldnt open that either - says it was protected - i tried dvdclone 2 and same thing - i am just curious what was wrong - i then used dvdfab decrypter and then shrink to cut out all the extras - and then burned with dvdclone 2 - works fine - anyone else have this kind of problem ?

You need to use (free program) VOB banker after decrypter or fab decrypter if shrink doesn't allow you to open file. That will solve your problem.

thanks for the infomation - i didnt think you didnt to do anything else after you ripped it to the harddrive - i belieave it worked at times with doing anything and sometimes it didnt -- is that program VOB freeware and where can i get it --

When you ripped it with DVD Decrypter, which mode did you use?
File mode or ISO mode?

Dvd shrink pulls the ISO files out after you rip with DVD Decrypter in file mode. These files will have to be compressed.This will take a DVD-9 to DVD-5.

If it was ISO mode,you then look for the mds files on your hard drive and burn with DVD Decrypter in Mode ISO write.These files are for a 1:1 copy,no compression. Backup DVD-9 to DVD-9 blank or DVD-5 to DVD-5 blank.

When it comes to ripping with DVD Decrypter,the size of the dvd matters. I skip the ripping step with DVD Decrypter. Takes longer,and you usually still have to go through DVD Shrink to compress it.

Try ripping with DVD Shrink.

Insert disc
Open up dvd shrink
Open disc
after the initial analysis,backup entire disc or reauthor/drag main movie over
Click backup
Double check settings,mainly if you want nero/copytodvd/or DVD Decrypter to burn. .
Click ok and that's all she wrote. I have mine set up to autoburn with Nero after the encoding.

I use DVD Shrink to rip 95% of my backups. For the newer releases that it can't handle, AnyDVD will help DVD Shrink rip it.

For the 1:1 backups,I use dvd decryper in Mode ISO read and write. It's an excellent program for dl backups and those low budged DVD-5 originals.
