Hi.Follow this guide and you should be able to back it up with no problems. http://www.k-probe.com/backup-newly-release-DVD-DVDFAB-Decrypter-... .
If you want you can use shrink instead of recode to transcode it.Good luck.

That is Sony ARccOS protection, Shrink alone cannot handle this. Try ripping first to your HDD using DVD Fab Decrypter and then open the files with Shrink and proceed. You can get it here

http://home.comcast.net/~bbmayo/software.htm

If you still have problems the dl VobBlanker and run the files through this program after your rip and then proceed with Shrink you can get VB from the above link. Here is a guide that explains how to use it.

How'd I know this thread was started by a member with the title of "Newbie?" :)

But yes, everything stated here, and the countless other threads concerning this similar subject, are all true. Shrink is no longer updated (hasn't been for a couple of years), and Sony wants to fight DVD backups.

Sony is still in business, Shrink is not.

Latest AnyDVD to rip > VOBB to blank the unwanted on a DVD > Shrink to compress > ImgBurn to burn = Never starting a thread asking how to backup a movie

Uh huh, people should use the search engine, but you can either use DVDFab Decrypter, VOB Blanker, then DVD Shrink, or you can use AnyDVD with DVD Shrink, and be done with it. AnyDVD 21 day free trial, Fab, Blanker are free...takes a little longer, but if you don't want to purchase anything, tis the way to go...
