I REINSTALLED SHRINK AND NERO 7, BUT IT STILL DOES THE SAME THING. THE DRIVE WILL NOT READ DVDS, BUT WILL READ CDS AND DATA DISCS. THANKS. AARON

hi guys :)
i had this drive come up a few mth's ago (can't remember when)so from memory
its been around since 2003 and has always been problimatic, some times it burns next it won't
HL-DT-ST....GWA drives are OEM drives
LG/Hitachi makes the drive for any company that wants them i.e Dell etc.
LG doesn't give support for their drives so they don't give firmware updates, so will referr you to the company you bought it from for any fimware update. then of course the company then says go to L.G for firmware up dates (catch 22).
might be wrong seeing as my memory is a bit fuddled of late
