I wanted to just buy a premodd instead of buying the PS2 having it delivered then buying a chip, having it delivered then sending it all off to a pro to install it and have them send it back.....I would just rather buy a premodd.
I don't want to spend $300+ for it though and I wanted to buy from something that will come through. I just want the PS2 v14 (slim) w/ a DMS 4 Pro SE.
I was going to order from XMODD because at the time I was going to get the DMS 4 SE Lite but when I tried to get in contact with them about how long it'll take, etc. via IM yesterday no one ever contacted me back and that console was going to be $290 total.
Then I read here about Team Modders and gave them a shot, i'm awaiting their PayPal invoice so I can pay and they say it takes 5 days. Can someone please share their experience with Team Modders, i've read a little bit but I wanted maybe a little more in-depth review on them because I hand over $265.
I"ll be getting the DMS 4 Pro SE and New PS2 v14.

my opinion may not mean much to you because i am a moderator on that site and you may think that i would provide faulse info. But here it is anyway
1. read the site feedback section and you will see many,many rave reviews of their service
2. i bought my premodded Xbox from them and had a new laser & DMS4 Pro installed in my V5/6 and have had not 1 problem out of either one.
3. i have known the guys there who run the forums for a few years now and can tell you that they do a great job and stand behind there work 100%. I have even seen acses where a guy i refered to them had a chip go bad and he sent it back, they gave him a new chip for free.
4. i also can say i bought my V12 premodded at Xmodd, before i hooked up with Teammodders (formerly ModChipZone) and they did a great job but it took them 3 weeks from the time i paid them before i got my PSTwo and i had to hound them to get them to respond to my emails.
5. also note that Teammodders is not like Xmodd, they are not an online store. they are just regular guys like you and me who are trying to help out the modding community by doing repairs and installs with their spare time. They have lives and school work and jobs just like everyone else so just give them a chance and you will not regret it.

From all that i've read and heard about teammodders, they are supposed to run a great service.

You may discount my opinion as Davbere is a friend of mine, but they do excellent work. I got my v.4 modded with an MI PS2 back in a timely fashion, and it works great.

ooohhhkkkyyy well that makes things better how? I have taked to the guy at xmodd (not to be confused with xmodds) a few times and he inst much more. So what he has a site that actually looks like a site... cant dog him for that.

Hey ecko04,
I've just recently learned about mod chips and have sent my PS2 to him to mod with a Matrix Infinity GD. I sent my PS2 to him last week and haven't got it back yet, so I can't give a complete review yet. But, so far, I've got nothing bad to say. Every Email I've sent, has been answered in under 12 hours. Even my "is it there yet?" Email :) . I'm pretty confident every thing will go smoothly.

You and X-modds are good friends Sped, don't be coy. I think Davbere's work is second to none. But there are other talented modders as well. As long as Ecko is satisfied with the end result, that's all that matters. Good luck Ecko.

Just calm the hell down, it isn't that serious.
Everyone is entitled to their own opinion. Davebere's work may be second to no one but Teah Modders ability to communicate effectively with those interested is so whether his work is second to none, I will never know.
Regardless of who you go with xmodds, like myself, norcalmods w/ spedmetal or Team Modders w/ Tokijin you won't be disappointed.
Personally i'm not opening my PS2 once I get it anyway to see the work as long as it works so really who the hell cares? This thread wasn't supposed to turn into an all out flame war. If your chip works then GREAT its really just that simple.
xmodds communicates very quickly and effectively and also he isn't running a "store" while the site looks like it he has other things to do as well besides sit at home and mod PS2's all day, it's a hobby just like Team Modders but they get a chance to make a buck here and there. While xmodds is a man of few words he returns emails promptly and is on AIM whenever I needed to ask I question. I ordered late Tuesday night, he finished the mod late Wednesday, shipped it off Thursday morning and it was delivered Friday morning, pretty darn quick IMO. This was xmodds.com not xmodd.com.
my experiences with xmodd.com, they did not return my emails and was never on instant messenger even during their "office hours". when a prospective buyer want to purchase something and you have a hard time trying to contact the people....."red flag" is raised and I moved on. They could darn right be legit but I won't know.
norcalmods does a fantastic job, i've seen the work. You can't go wrong with those guys, the installs are very professional. They too have lives and aren't sitting around for a PS2 professional mod order but at least when I was looking for a premod they contacted me letting me know that they don't do premods but they do professional installations and if I had a PS2 I wanted modded just send it in, pick a chip and it'll be done ASAP.
Team Modders, are a good set of upstanding guys, the mod work is done my Davebere and like you and I those guys have lives and not waiting for a PS2 premod order. Still if you're the best in the game as some would claim you might want to respond to emails a bit quicker. I was going to go with them but Davebere took about 4 days to send me the PayPal money request and during that time XMODDS stepped in and took the job from him. Personally, I don't care how good you are but in any situation communication is key, even when what you're doing is a hobby. Not to mention XMODDS did it for $10 cheaper.
Now with that being said, please calm down. This thread has gone completely off topic. My original question has been answered and I damn sure wouldn't mind if this thread was closed.

You need to chill out man and not be paranoid. Whatever Bacon does he does on his own and has nothing to do with me.
You mentioned however "respect" and "free gifts" and "earn respect" how ironic when I know for a fact that Dave gices out fee modded consoles in hopes to end up "one step above". Thats his thing though and so be it, who cares
No one here has done anything against you and I have respect for you and very much appreciate the fact that you have mentioned my service in the past and hopefully this incident will not change that down the road, but maybe you are to upset now to care.
You are a respected member here and people follow your advice but it seams that when ever someone has something opposite or goes against your train of thought you get on the defensive. I'm free to comment about other modders and if I feel like stating that one decided to not go with the top one in your eyes there should be no reason for you to get offensive or even cynical with comments like "coy" and "I know your friends". Yeah good you know who I talk to .... its obvious who you talk to and we are all allowed to make our own recommendations here ....arent we?
Now come on man lighten up I dont think anyone is out to punk you here, just be cool like you normally are. Right on lets have fun now aight?

That was my plan all along. I have no desire for conflict with you or anyone else. He's a highly respected modder, and he doesn't need to give out free consoles to get people's business. He gets it by working hard, being honest and reliable. If we can coexist on AD without stepping on each others toes, I'm all for it. I don't get upset when people disagree with me. I get upset when people display overwhelming ignorance in the face of facts that prove their statements are completely untrue. Like the one thread where the guy was offering mods for $10. What do I have to gain by calling him out? I damn sure know enough not to entrust my PS2 to someone like that. But there's a lot of noobs on this site who do not. I feel it's my obligation to expose people like that for what they are- frauds. Then the one guy getting irate after not hearing from teammodders within three days. What the hell was he hoping to accomplish by bitching about it publicly? Either he should've contacted Davbere or another modder. So you see, I don't get mad when people disagree with me, I get mad when they display total ignorance. Do a search on my nick and see how many times I flame people or get in flame wars. I've been in a couple through 5,000 posts, but not many. I see these forums going to hell quickly. I'm one of the few people left here who is knowledgeable and likes to help people without any ulterior motives. If I am a little paranoid, so be it. I still give a damn enough to help people, and that's good enough for me.

Why in hell would someone give out a free modded console thats worth over 200$? Sounds like stupidity more than niceness.
