hi there all . i just bought my psp in the last hour brand new . so have few questions.
i have already some info about psp but still help me.
my psp firmware is v1.52 1004 i know to play iso i have to go to v2.0 and then go back to 1.50 . here is the thing i got a demo disk with my psp . in that when i go to menu and then go to game i see the version update 2.00 so should i go for it? or should i go for the firmware from psphacks that is 2.0b. help me please
one more question i have is that i also need to degrade my psp to v1.5 so i got the mph downgrader is it ok to install it ?.

Congrats on the psp mate, you have to upgrade to 2.0 Nothing Higherthen downgrade...
Use the downgrader you can find on this site, by the search button aboove. Do Not take out the mains adapter, wen dowgrading, it will brik it!

to upgarade to 2.0 http://www.psp-hacks.com/file/5
put that in your psp/game/update folder if there isnt one you create it. Run the update, make sure your psp is plugged into the charger. Do not remove the charger at anytime, Do not remove the battery, Don't do anything but press X
To downgrade from 2.0 here is what you do.
You are going to need this file

1. Take the h.dat and the index file and put them in your root folder(next to psp and umdemulator)
2. Take overflow.tiff and put it in your PSP/Photo Menu.
3. Make a new folder in your PSP/GAME CALLED UPDATE. Put the 1.5 upgrade in there.
4. Go to your photo menu, and press down. You should see a black screen with white letters. If not turn your psp off and try again. do not downgrade til you see the black screen with the white letters, this is a very important step
5.After you see the black screen with the white letters wait 30 seconds turn you psp off and turn it on again, Go to the game menu through your PSP and click the 1.5 update. make sure your psp is plugged into the charger. Do not remove the charger at anytime, Do not remove the battery, Don't do anything but press X to start the downgrade
Your psp is going to get to 99% and say that the update failed. This is perfectly normal. Wait 30 seconds after this happened and turn your psp off.
6. Turn your psp back on its going to say an error happened. This is normal as well. Just rebuild your psp like it instructs you to do.
7. You now have a 1.5 psp

but the problem is that i got one game free with my psp that is FIRED UP but i cannot play it now it says that i need TO START U MUST UPDATE THE SYSTEM SOFTWARE. so can some one help me how to make this umd work on a 1.50 psp??????????

i really appreciate the work done by all the members in this group
and apolojize for double posting.
I just bought my psp after saving for months and i just got 1 game free with it that is FIRED UP. i played it a bit and then i changed my firmware from 1.52 to 1.50 and now even that game is not working.
i have all the softwares u mentioned in most forums but dont know how to use. i am a dial up user and it takes weeks to download a single iso file but still i dont know how to make it use of it. rite now i have 3 iso in my pc
1 nfs most wanted 184mb
2 metal gear acid 192mb
3 gta lcs 145mb
i have got these files from a p2p shareware program.
I saw many guides in this website but too confused. and everyday i come online on this dial up 2 or 3 times to check if someone posted a reply.
FOR just now tell me for nfs most wanted iso
i have the iso
tell me the minimum no of softwares i need to put in my psp to make that iso work . and how to intall these softwares?
PLEASE HELP ME SOON i know typing takes a big time. but this website is the only hope for me.

hey thanks. ill be sure i do it well.
1 more thing if u dont mind.
i have a software named SXT version changer . so it says it do some thinking thing. so can u please tell me wat it do and can i use this or any other software to make my game FIRED UP UMD work on 1.50 psp without affecting the umd emulator and fastloader to run isos .?

sxt changer tricks your psp into thinking it has an older firmware running. it works with some umds but not all.
it shouldnt affect fast loader however if it does, all you need to do is untrick the psp.
So set it to 2.0 to play fired up, and then set it back to 1.5 to play your backups

WOW what a quick reply. seriously it is the best website of the world. ok now i have the sxt version changer. i have a folder namer sxt version changer in that there are 2 more folders that are
1 SXT1~1%
2 SXT
1
in both these folders there are eboot.pbp files
NOW where to put these things?????

In your PSP/GAME folder.

didnt quite get it in the psp game folder which one i put
the eboot.pbp file
or the folder sxt1~1% that contains this eboot.pbp
does this software require installation?

You put the folders containing the eboots into your PSP/GAME folder.
SXT1~1%
SXT
1
those two folder go there.
No this doesnt require any software installation. Only thing you need is a 1.5 psp and a usb cord

thanks for the reply i tried it and it worked great . i tried the demo UMD because my friend have my fired up umd.
ok now i am using a small memory card ill be saving up and buying a 1 gig soon so when i need to remove the SXT. i choose the version 1.5 from the SXT and then remove the SXT files from the psp??? or is there any other way?
plus about the guide on GTA LCS u gave the link for rapidshare that is not working with me . i dont know why rapid share is never working for me is there any other way of getting that around 12mb guide of gta lcs .

i tried that but it is still not working. i says my proxy is already downloading a file.
oK i got a question. I downloaded a gamepack from a shareware program it was 557mb took me 2 weeks to download it. after extracting it . there are 6 psp games in it which make a total of file of 1gb. these games are there in that rar file which i extracted
1 APE escape 373mb
2 Dead To Rights 156mb
3 Lumines 58.4mb
4 NBA 2k 159mb
5 Smart Bomb 114mb
6 Wipeout Pure 240mb
Now the strange thing is that none of these games is an iso file .
for example if i open the ape escape folder this is what is there

ok the end . now there is also a read me which says
Put APE_GAME in ROOT
Put common in ROOT
Put Ape & Ape% in PSP/GAME
now there is this game so should i just put it like that or do i need to create an iso file of it. and also it needs no emulator because its not writtent there so what should i do?

it wont work as iso because it is different booting method. most probably hookboot.

If you have folders called APE and APE% in the PSP/GAME folder then surely it has its own icon when you look at the Memory stick under Game menu on your PSP ?? If so then just select that icon to boot...

hey man.got me thinkinig when you said you hava an iso of GTA: LCS, is it really the game? i thought the game was like 930mb after its been shrunk

yeah i got an iso of gta lcs of 145mb i got it from limewire a share ware program but didnt try cause dont know how to.

hi there again people.
i was wondering if u all have isos of psp games on ur hard disk . then why not we all share them on particular shareware program so that everyone can have it. the share ware program i mentioned above will work.

That is illegal, backup isos can only be owned if you own the actual umd. Sharing the file is not allowed, sharing how to get the files to work is ok.

hi again. ok i got wat u said.
I tried connecting my creative inspire 4.1 speakers to my psp and sounded great. i want to know that do they damage my psp. plus can u tell me that the new games like
daxter
gta lcs
syphon filter and other new ones of psp will work on which emulator?
and any other way to get that gta guide other than the rapid share thing plzz i need that file.
