Many people on this board refuse to use DVDXcopy.
I use:
DVD Decrypter
DVD2One
Stomp RecordNow (or Nero)
That way, if something does happen to my original, I can then make a backup copy of my first backup.

YES YES YES! I have no problems copying again from a DVDXCopy backup. I use Nero 5.5 and 'copy on the fly' option. Dead easy.

I guess the ultimate answer is this: you cannot make a backup of a backup using dvdXcopy. As Mike has pointed out, you can make a backup of a backup using other software. (Like Nero)

The point is that DVDxCOPY is designed to make a single backup of your owned DVD and no more, as more implies commercialism and copying, rather than backups for illegal distribution. This may sound like a pointless technicality, but it is important, as DVDxCOPY is a commercially available piece of software which advocates the protection of the owners right to backup, rather than some 'underground' piece of software that encourages or at least does not control piracy.
This is an important distinction.
Paul.

that is true Loaded. I do agree. I guess it was just a fluke. I have to to make a backup of a disc that i have did with dvdx and this time i error. So i guess it was just a fluke. What about with alcohol 120 i thought that cracked everything out now.

I like to keep two backup copies just in case and copying using Nero is quicker than doing the whole thing again with DVDXCopy - I'm sure they understand!
