I have been using shrink for a long time. In the last few weeks it hasnt worked at all. Everytime i start encoding it works for a little then the program just shuts off and dissappears from my desktop. Please help because i love how easy it is to use.

bigmck24,
Welcome to the forum. There is 2 reasons that could be happening

1. One of the symptoms of the newer encryptions is Shrink overloads and shuts off. You will need to rip the DVD to the HD w/ either DVDFAB Decrypter and then use VobBlanker or you will have to use a driver based program like AnyDVD. One is free and one costs $$.

Alkohol's guide for DVDFAB Decrypter> VobBlanker and Recode. Instead of Recode you can substitute Shrink

2. Heat buildup or OS conflicts. Heat buildup means you need to clean out the dust bunnies and make sure all of the fans are working. You might need to add more fans to the inside of the computer. Use compressed air and blow gently inside the case. OS Conflicts can usually be cured w/ a free registry cleaner and you can Google for one.

I really think it is the 1st answer so start there first

bigmck24 ,
If I was a betting man I would have lost $$ on this. LOL Glad the 2nd idea worked.

After you install a program run the registry cleaner again. If you uninstall a program- Run the registry cleaner. A clean computer keeps the owner happy
