the movie has two large files I copied just the first one at 3500mb.
burned it no compression nothing. movie is perfect.

The original disk was 7.34Gb. Just choose the 3.5 gig and dump the rest.
Why do people bother shrinking?

Why?

1)Not all movies have no compression after reauthoring for main movie only. It does eliminate the majority of compression,but if it's a title like:
Harry potter series
Lord of the Rings series
Alexander
Green Mile
Etc
Try one of those titles.I'll bet $100 that you can't get back an of them up on single layer media with 0 compression.

Those have between 35-45% compression for Main Movie only, even after eliminating all bonus features/menus/unnecesary sound streams/ending credits/etc.

Some DVD-9 originals may have several main movies. Some may be wide screen/full screen/different endings/etc.

2) Cost of DL media by compressing to DVD-5 blank.$2 a blank dl disc when on sale is still pricey for some people.

3) They want to keep all contents of that movie and highly compressed backups play ok for them.

4) Not all original dvds are dvd-9's. Some of the low budget flicks like napoleon dynamite and first 4 nightmare on elm street series can be entirely backed up without any compression-nothing to get rid of. These are all on dvd-5s.

dvd-5 to dvd-5:

You don't even have to run it through DVD Shrink. You can use DVD Decrypter in Mode ISO read and Mode ISO write,just like backing up dual layer media on those original dvd-9s.
