Shrink Disappears if I use the open disc option to scan the movie and then choose my compression settings and when I hit backup, it disappears. If I use Decrypter and sometimes VOB Blanker and then choose the open files tab, Shrink works. I am running AnyDVD in the background on both options, But why is Shrink disappearing when I choose the open disc tab option??

Try uninstalling DVD Shrink and then doing a fresh install and see if the problem persists.

Do you have more than one burner on your system?

I reinstalled it, and it does the same thing. I only have one burner.

This appears to be a copy protection issue, you state you have and use anydvd, is it upto date? If anydvd is old, it's possible that it's unable to correctly recognize the copy protection on the disk and therefore unable to decrypt it.

This can also be caused by a CPU overtemp condition. Shrink is a very CPU intensive application. If you have a way to check your CPU's core temp in Windows, see if it is spiking when running Shrink. Also, open your case and clean all of the dust bunnies out of any fans or vent holes.

Does this happen with all titles or just some? In other words, is it happening with titles that have a certain type of copy protection?

Does this happen even when using DVD Shrink on an iso file ripped to your hard drive?

What is the target in Shrink set to? an iso iamge on a hard disk, a folder of files on a hard disk, or an iso file and burn with Decrypter or Nero? If it is happening only when you click Backup, then there is some unresolved conflict, probably device communication, occurring at that time.
