In the latest edition of PSM, sony confirmed that playing games on-line on PS3 will be FREE!!!!!!!!!!!!
WHile they will charge for downloads and extras, the playing of games will be free, unlike MS.
Just another reason why Sony and PS3 is the choice to make!!!

For most serious gamers the choice is irrelevant.
I myself have a PS1, PS2, Gamecube, XBox, and Xbox360. When the PS3 comes out I plan to get one. When the Nintendo Revolution comes out I plan to get one too. I have an HD-DVD player and when Blu-ray comes out I will also get one. Good thing there are component and HDMI switchers available so no matter how many inputs your display has you can always accomodate another device.
Almost forgot my PSP and Nintendo DS plus RTS games on my PC.

bogey,
just wondering how old you are and how you have that much free time to play games on 71` diffrent consoles, etc. I barely have enough time to play PS2, Xbox, and PSP.
Im thinking for kids that don't have that much $$$, that may be a deciding factore even if $70 isn't a lot of $$$ to most.
I wrote off nintendo years ago since they barely make many good games these days and their 3rd party support is next to none. Im a little intrigued by the Rev controller, but if the games suck or they don't get enough games I would not get it.
There is just not enough time.

I'm 25 and I work out of my home (stock trading and financial planning) so I have tons of time. Plus my girlfriend is a sexy geek who'd rather play a coop Halo2 game than go out to the mall. As my college prof used to say - "Work hard and play hard."

well xbox live is only like 4 dollars a mounth, which is really not that much, also i think the ps3 will not be charging for online play but the the developers eg, ubisoft, EA, etc will be charging their own online fee, like on a pc.

yeh the serivce offers free gameplay but from what i hear the game developers have to take care of the setup and facilitating it all unlike xbox live. xbox live is pricey but it averages out to like 18cents a day and it takes the pressure off the game developers which makes it more inticing to make games that play online.so in essence they didnt improve their online service,its ps2 all over with a few borrowed ideas from xbox live and MS like achievements,arcade,content and so on.

People borrow ideas everyday.To be honest PS2 was going to do the same thing as X-BOX live but Sony had promise gamers that there online service was going to be free and they stuck by there guns.So thats was not MS idea alone.Game Designers will not have to facilitate on the PS3 console Sony is going to have there own network Just like X-Box live but with no charge and better.

haha. get a girl whos independant. that way she doesnt like 2 be pampered all the time. and she will want 2 buy her own things. lol. i have many girls who r my mates. n one of em is very independant, so if u get 1 like that. u will have a stable bank balance :P
Don't judge the consoles by specs, more isnt always better, espec in PS3 specs.i know the truth, ask if u wanna know.......

i got this phantom during their beta testing, didn't give it back they're dead no ITS MINE!!!
its pretty rare too, only 800 were sent out

As i have said before its one thing to borrow ideas from a company but to borrow ideas u so openly criticize is another thing.sony bashed the two-tier pricing system that MS used and openly mocked the wii's controller design and then they go on to "borrow" those methods.i dont see how u stand by and accpet or fabricate information all day to put sony in a positve light...what have they done for you???u protect them as if they were a family member just like every other sony fan.i didnt know that sony was facilitating the online like MS does so thanks for that info no sarcasm intended.as far as sony sticking to thier word thats a first and they dfeinently could have used their one truth on something far better than what they are.but still it is not a truth until i see it,sony has promised one too many things and not delivered for me to believe them up front. another thing sony said that 1080p was the a big part of what they are doing but not even both of their consoles support 1080p...MS screwed up their launch or else i think sony would be out of the race before it even started.NOw all MS can do is hope sony messes their launch up but thats not likely
