i have shrink set up to output ISO to my desktop, it tells me that that is there but i can't see it. if i open shrink and hit shift+I, i can see it. what's is up? why doesn't it show in my desktop? thanks

Did you try to right click and select Refresh on the desktop?

First, don't have shrink just put a file on your desktop, you should create a "MOVIE" folder on your desktop and have shrink put the ISO in that folder that way all you have to do is look in the folder and there it should be.

Not sure exactly what you mean by you can't see it, is it that there is no file there on your desktop or does the file appear to look different so you dont recognize it?

The file may have it's extension hidden, to change this;
goto: my computer >>> tools >>> folder options, click on the VIEW tab, look for the "Hidden Files and Folders" section and uncheck the "Hide extensions for known file types", click ok. Now the file's extension should be displayed.

If you don't have any other application that the file can be associated with (ie.. nero, roxio, winrar, etc) other than shrink, windows will display the file differently (it looks like a file with a window in it) but it should have a .iso extension. You can find it easily with shrink when you choose open disk image because it's setup to locate and display image files only.

Here's how you can find out:

Open a Folder.

Click on Tools->Folder Options.

Select the File Types tab.

Go Down in the list to .iso

Click on .iso

Look at the Details for 'iso' extension

Make sure that it states "Opens with Nero Burning ROM" - or whatever program you are using.

If it does not have open with info, or doesn't exist, do a google search for "Adding a file extention" and it will tell you all you need to know.
