i am burning BAMBI 2 and i run into an error message "Failed to read D:\" - Data error (cyclic redundancy check)
any idea what this is. i can't go any farther.

The DVD you are trying to backup is protected by the ARccOS copy protection system.
What program are you using for burning as Shrink does not burn.

Try ripping Bambi2 to your HDD using the free DVDFab Decrypter and then process with Shrink as usual. If you still get a CRC error on ripping with DVDFab you probably have a damaged/imperfect disk. Try cleaning it or return it for another original.

I am using Nero to burn the disk, i made a mistake in mentioning that i was burning the disk but instead was ripping the disk to my hard drive when i got the message. thanks for the quick reply.

Shrink and Bambi2 are not gonna get along, try the rip with DVDFab and then Shrink. DVDFab will get through the new protection, if you get a CRC error then clean the disk, or get another.
