its the sane design the past 2 consoles sony put out with a lttile stolen idea from nintendo thrown in there.sony sucks and this shows their commitment to change and providing a unique cange in the gaming world.

Yeah its a hell of a lot better than that boomerang....but the exclusion of Rumble kinda sucks big time. I'd rather have Rumble than the motion sensor.

im not too sure why people are soo fixed on the idea of they 'stole' that design from so and so. Theres prolly not one company out there that at some point hasnt stolen,copied,incorporated..etc an idea from someone or something else. the norm of gaming is changing, and in this so called "next gen" of gaming, i am reluctant to say that atleast the ps3 has some sort of new or different technology incorporated in their controller. the overall technology may not be cutting edge, but it sure as hell beats a vibrating pad that did nothing more than stimulate people's nutsacks....its like everything else in this industry, sony had the first backwards capable machine and incorporated not only music cd playback, but dvd as well. xbox due to the fact that they came out later obviously 'stole' those cues, but is it stealing?? or simply the continuing evolution of gaming. i for one, am in favor of the controller and it just proves that competition is one of the biggiest components of innovation.

The fact i say its stolen is cause they panicked when they lost the rumble and just redesigned it recently. Its not like they were planning it. Even developers said they didnt know about it till like a week or 2 b4 this e3. If they were really planning on using it they would have incorporated it atleast a few months ago. Rofl and bringing up the argument of dvd and cd playback, i dont even care about that. Thats what i have a stereo and dvd player for, and the reason i buy a gaming console is to game not to watch movies.

you are probably correct when you say "Theres prolly not one company out there that at some point hasnt stolen,copied,incorporated..etc an idea from someone or something else." but common, nintendo have been pushing this idea for so long now and at the last minute b/c sony loose some court case they just add it in.

the lawsuit im sure played part in their decision to change the controller, but from the time they revealed the boomerang controller they got mostly negative feedback. Everytime the ps3 was displayed it was always a conceptual design. i would be kidding myself if i thought that the motionsensor design was their original idea, but apparantly leaving the window open to the final design worked out for them. Is it shady what they did, well that all depends on whether your in support of sony or not. This was a major portion of wii's development, but i think you'd be foolish to believe that depending on its success, the next line of xboxs doesnt have some characteristics similar to these ideas. Both are trying to take controllers to a different level, and like i said about the backwards cap, and playback options....if you read and understood that, you would know im talking about how those features are now standard on systems whether you utilize them or not, just like i would expect this to be standard in the future....
considering that M$ is going to switch the processors in 07, and the fact that it wasnt till about 4 months after its launch that the 360 finally had some quality games...whose to say that if M$ didnt rush things your 360 wouldnt already have a feature like this??? remember it was M$ who said if they wanted a blu ray player instead of HD-DVD they could do that....so its unfair to say one stole when the other prolly would have done the same thing

all you are using is speculation
they would have but you dont know, all we do know is that sony did do it and like you said yourself its shady
and wow ms didnt have any good games till 4 months which is your own opinion, i myself loved pgr3 and cod2, as i recall ps2 didnt have any good games for like a year, i only bought a ps2 when gta 3 and ffX came out
and using dvd or cd playback as something stolen is still a stupid argument. Its a medium used for playback. Considering both of the consoles used a dvd player it would be stupid of them not to have it.
the thing is i can care less if they use the tilt or not its just that sony is that kid in school that what ever he sees you doing he does to make himself look cool. they said that xblive was garbage, now there coming out with hub or what ever they call it. nintendo says that we have a motion control controllers and a virtual library of older games, so sony does the same thing for the ps3 and psp. it makes you wonder if sony sits down and waits to see who is doing what so we can make something that resembles it and call it are own.
i could care less who wins because competition is good but i would like sony to lose its footing as leader, if all they do is copy ideas from others and then just flat out lie about it! i just do not like liars, like last years cgi fest saying that they were actual real time game play footage. they do the same thing every time they bring out a new tech, they say pump up the specs and then when it finally comes out it has half of what they promised.
i don't know about you but when somebody promises me some thing i expect them to deliver

well before this turns into a useless thread between two people, like i said in the last post you really need to read and try to understand what i am talking about. I never said there were not "any good games," i said there were not any "Quality" games. its been awhile but im sure people can back up the fact that even COD2 online when it was first released was glichey and subpar, thus why i said "quality," to release a game premature and have to release patches to correct things is not the way things should be done when you lay down $400+. a year for ps2 to have good games, again thats like what you said (opinion), but i find it hard to believe to say ps3's line up in comparison to ps2s', hasnt come along way. it would appear atleast one of the companys has learned from previous mistakes, but whats the rush when the other is redesigning their processor for next year, so who would want to buy one today anyway??
"sony did do it and like you said yourself its shady." i never said it was shady, i said "IS it shady what they did, well that all depends on whether your in support of sony or not." keyword being "is." so im sure we can argue here all day but in the end, the ps3 will have motion sensor for better or worse, and rest assure you'll never find me complaining in a 360 thread post ps3 release. i would like yourself though be scrummaging through threads if i had a 360 today.

yeah i agree, although all of the games were rushed, the first game that was not rushed was fightnight round 3, but anyways i found that if they had more time most of those games would look fantastic, just by looking at games like pgr 3, perfect dark zero and kameo, whcih i happen to be playing right now, i mean to me kameo is the best looking game untill ghost recon and oblivion came out.

Call of Duty 2 was glitchy, it was the only game where the glitches affected the playability of the game. They then released a patch fixing all the glitches, adding a couple of new components to the game AND releasing bonus maps on occasion.

I'm being biased again, but I dont think u would call it the 'always perfect dual shock 2', if you held a 360 controller. That just oozes ergonomics.

i dont find what i wrote as complpaining its just my opinion.
The fact of the matter is that i consider myself a gamer. From this last gen i own all 3 system (ps2,xbox,gc) and now a 360. The only reason i visit these threads is to read up on some more ps3 stuff and comment on others. I was actually going to get a ps3 but the price has diverted me. Not that i cant afford it, just that i dont think its worth it. To me a Blu-ray or HD-DVD is not worth it at all at this point in time, maybe in two three years itll be different but as of now i dont know what the big fuss is. So i will be getting a Wii to go with my 360. As for the ps3 a few of my friends will prob get one so ill just play at their house from time to time.

yeah i have to agree, i had a ps1 i loved the controller, then i held the xbox controller and did not like it as much but the xbox 360 controller has been thought about so well, the materail is a matted material which makes it smoooth, but not feel cheap and plasticy, then you have the sliver bit on the buttom which grips your fingers, then the middle button which can do loads of things, and obviously the perfect layout of buttons, but i still like the ps controller, just not as much.

I have to agree with you. I thought the 360 controller was better until I seen you're accurate analysis summing up all the good/bad points of each system's controller... or not.

While the 360 controller is good, Dual Shock is still better. IMO.
The shittiest controller of this generation was the GCN, and i still dont see how a remote will make me play better games with old graphics.
And seriously, Nintendo's design has been seen before, actually Microsoft did the gyroscope first in some of their mouses, AND THEY did the 6 degree motion first, if anything Microsoft>>them both in Innovation.
Yo!

when you actually see the nintendo wii controller being used you undertand that its a lot like pc mouse and keyboard, in the sence that when playing metroid prime (fps) you hold your hand out as the gun and by moving your arm you move the screen, then by pressing a button on the remote you shoote, this enables pin point accuracy, just like the mouse on a pc as you are controller it single handedly with one hand. then with the other hand you use the nun chuck thing whcih enables you to move in the direction you point you remote, now after seeing this in action and seeing that metroid primes graphics were also very impressive i have to say thats a cool way of play fps games.
oh and if you do not want to play using the wii mote then you can can use a controller they made, which looks like the old sega conteoller.
