Sonic was also considered.
That wario thing seemed like a tribute to beavis and butthead do america. It didn't make me laugh as much as mario being cooked by chef kirby though.
Samus is pretty hot. She looks better than the unmasking in metroid prime 2.

Too bad Nintendo just wouldn't give up the console market and make games for Sony and Microsoft. Can you imagine what they could do with a powerful engine?? They could make some killer games that could be fully appreciated by real gamers. Not little kids like they market to. Zelda or a new mario game would be so awesome on say the PS3. Imagine what they could do with it. Instead they want to go with cheesy cheap graphics and the Power glove part 2 for a controller. Give me a break Nintendo. That control is a "neat" idea but should have been more as an add on product for certain games rather than what they are basing the system on. Do i want to play Madden or a fighting game with that Wee-mote. hell no!! I might as well wear a helmet to sleep because that would be so WEE-tarded.

when you see a good game on any nintendo console you know it is awesome, b/c it has had to compete against games with great graphics and its still better, this for me shows great gamplay and probaby one of the few times we actually look at gamplay over graphics.

it's not just about about graphocs, its gameplay. the last 2 smash brothers in particular smash brothers melle were awesome to play.
i remember four player dualers on the gamecube and i can just imagine me and three mates jumping around my living room with the motion sensor controls. lol. its gonna be crazy.hahaha

the only thing whcih could make this game any better would have to be online capablities, can you imagine the amount of fun you wuill have with this game online, never agagin will you have to play the crappy single player.

super smash bros for ps3 ??? very kool.
personally been playing those games since the n-64 days and i got tired of them already.so this tittle looks more of the same with just a little bit better graphics.
where are the new games ???

Weeeeell...I know that Falco, Fox, Bowser, and Luigi are making a DEFINITE return. If you want to know any others, tell me and I'll search the web. Also, if you also think logically(like for example: I didn't know for sure Luigi would be making a comeback but he's like Mario's brother...Nintendo practically HAS to put him in.), you can guess who's going to be in it. Also, I'm not sure but I would've sworn I saw Bowser in the trailer, so...
So...yeah.

Oh! One more thing...Since it's for Wii(or the Nintendo Revolution for those who don't know its nickname), it has a motion sensor. Why should you care, you ask? Well, that means that let's say you dodge while holding the motion-sensor-thing, then your character does too! You can also use the GC controller for this game(Miyamoto didn't want to "Alienate players with the game"). Lol, I can imagine my friends and I jumping all over the room...

Well, actually, you can use the Wii controllers, too. I mean, think about it: not being able to use a controller for its own console? Now that's just ASKING for bad commercialism. If you're right, then...there's a high chance it'll be a big flop, but...you know.

i hope marth and roy make it on to the next game aswell, oh an as for controllers well i heard they will use the new wii controller that is not motion sensor. its basically a remake of the sega controller, but better looking an dmore practicle.

you do not eat the hype up, common, sony feed you s**t and you eat it up like apple pie and ice cream. yoyur always saying the ps3 is better faster, games will better, online will be better, graphics will be better, BUT HOW DO YOU KNOW THIS, OH I KNOW B/C SONY SAID IT. well done mate.
also super smash bros braul for me personally will be more fun that any game on the ps3, but thats just an asumption, not a fact, like you always think you can make.
oh and the new ssbb will be using a new controller (not the gc controller) its made by nintendo, for wii, for the games that will not use the wii mote.
oh and saying that its stupid for nintendo not to use their motion sensor controller, well its like saying that "i want to see the motion sensor thing in the dual shock in everygame other wise sony have blown their chances and will perish away in some cave." see how stupid you sound.

The probelm i see with nintendo is and this is my personal opinon but they arent attracting new fans and thats going to be the end all to them.I mean it would be one hting if they dominated the gaming console market but they are on the bottom of 3 and arent attracting new people because most of their games are just sequels.Thats the same thing with the ps3,not enough new titles.Although super smash bros is a must,but i mean metroid prime and zelda and so on. I understand those are the staples of nintendo but it doesnt attract ! single new fan cause if you havent played the previous games in the serious chances are its because that not ur typ eof game. PS3 has got teeken 95,metal gear solid 26,virtua fighter 99,gran turismo 200894, and so ion i think you get my point.Its like movie sequels after a while it just is a different setting with the general concept being the same in all of them.MS has a couple of sequels that are must haves but other than that they have many a new game coming out from too human to prey to gears of war to bioshock to mass effect and so on.This is off topic so i'll stop my self short and respond to the video footage...looks good and should be fun.

I think you're right, but the problem doesn't only exist with Nintendo. If you take an outside perspective on video gamers, the stereotype isn't that appealing.
It is Nintendo's goal, however, to try to appeal to your argument. I think the DS has done pretty well, and the Wii was getting a lot of attention during and after e3 (Google news was all over it, for example) and unique games like trauma, brain training, nintendogs, wii sports etc trying to lure more non-gamers. While I think Wii sports would be fun, I'm still interested in smash bros, red steel, maybe the EA football or the blitz, and metroid.
Meh... we'll see how the Wii ends up. It could be a massive failure, but it has certainly got potential.

Well, I'm not all that dissapointing about the motion-sensor-thing. It could get pretty tiring after a while, and I doubt a lot of people would use it for long anyway. But...For other games, it's gonna attract a lot of people. And I mean a lot. It's sort of like an alternate version of the eyetoy...But it's less of a peice of crud. Also, fox, falco, marth, and roy are making a definite return. Just found that out, like, 2 minutes ago. So...yeah. Again, just tell me if you want to find out stuff. And I agree with the sequel thing, but you know nintendo. JUST as they're about to die, they come up with something new that spontaneously attracts millions of fans. Or was that sega/sony? ...LOL!

The inclusion of Konami-created character Solid Snake may seem conflicted to the Smash Bros. paradigm - to only include characters from games made by Nintendo and their second parties (ie. HAL Laboratory) - but Sakurai stated that Metal Gear creator Hideo Kojima "practically begged" for Snake to be included in the next Smash Bros. game (which, at the time of said "begging", was Super Smash Bros. Melee, but production of the game was already too far in to make the addition viable). This isn't the first time Snake appears in a crossover fighting game; he was previously featured as a secret character in DreamMix TV: World Fighters, which also had Bomberman, the first third-party character to appear in a Nintendo game (Wario Blast: Featuring Bomberman!). When questioned about the inclusion of other characters (Sonic the Hedgehog specifically being singled out in the question), Shigeru Miyamoto alleged that discussions for possible other third-party character additions are underway, but nothing has been confirmed.[5]
Japanese fans are currently being asked to submit their desired characters and themes to Nintendo's website, the most popular of which will be incorporated into the game.
