As far as consoles it is the 2nd most expensive console EVER and is 200bucks more than any console around at the time so while all that was nice its still too expensive for a gaming console and a dvd player essentially.People will try anyway to justify their Sony indulgences, you and i both know its not worth the extra money and the cheaper of the two ps3 packages is a horrible product.

True it runs on new hardware but its not doing anything new for us. It like reinventing something that doesnt better the product and charging more for it thats kinda pointless. The only new thing about the ps3 that they can toot their horn about is the Blu-ray technology which is extremely expensive in every facet including software and hardware.Blu-ray players costs twice the cheaper package of the ps3 and movies are $40.00.

but if Blu Ray does win the HD DVD battle, then it will totally be worth it.
hate to break it to you, but DVD will be going away within a few years. Sony will be banking if Blu-ray wins out, if not it is a waste of $$$ and not better than the 360 at all and Sony will shut their doors.

like woopz said i was talking about the power of the ps3 and that it can already be matched, well before this all gets complicated, i will tell you one last time, the blue ray player, will never help graphics or even game size, its just there to make movies look better, larger and help developers when making a game by giving them space to be sloppy instead of having to compress everything, but do not get me wriong when i say compres i do not mean shorter games.

no but your acting like vhs to dvd is as big as dvd to blue ray to dvd, but there not, vhs was absolute crap and dvd was awesome, but blue ray is not years ahead of dvd, and games have not progressed as much as before, so when cartridges were in with sega and nintendo, the games were mostly 2D, but as dvd came in it become 3D, so obviously there was a dramatic change in size.
what you do not seem to realise is that if the game does not need to be that big then it will not need to be that big, i mean even if sony invented blue ray when ps2 came what wouldhave been the point as the games were just never going to need the space.
until the time comes when graphics, game size and other things are such of a hight quality that the over all size of game increases then blue ray will come in handy.
