Getting Coasters Shrink Nero

I have gotten 3 coasters attempting to back up my son's copies of 24. I don't personally see what he sees in the show, the plots are just too contrived, but he bought it and wants to protect his originals, and I tried 3 different discs.

Here's what happened: I used DVD fab, then encoded with Shrink and as Nero burned, it stopped burning and failed at about 7 % on all 3 discs.

I was able to burn the discs manually by burning them through Nero burning rom, but Nero failed each time I tried to burn automatically from Shrink.

This is my first problem like this. I had a problem earlier when Nero refused to burn from Shrink, and I took someone's advice here and uninstalled Nero and installed an earlier version and it then worked.

Does anyone have any ideas about this problem?

Is it particular to the 24 discs?

Posting a nero log would help, but taking a stab in the dark with limited info:

1.Try burning at a slower speed, say 1/2 the rated speed of the media or slower.

2.When was the last time you updated your burner's firmware? An update could help, you can look for one here as well as download it.

3.What brand of media are you using? Stay away from the cheap stuff and switch to verbatims, sony, or TY's.

If your willing to spend a little to get a lot then get AnyDVD and clone dvd2 they haven't failed me to this date!!!
