CAN ANYONE HELP

I JUST CANNOT FOLLOW THE INSTRUCTIONS ON HOW TO COMPRESS A LARGE DVD ONTO A DVD-R 4.75GIG DISC.

I AM NEW TO THIS AND HAVE TRIED EVERYTHING.

I NEED A IDIOTS GUIDE WHICH IS EASY TO FOLLOW.

PLEASE INCLUDE ANY SOFTWARE I SHOULD ADDITIONALLY USE, I HAVE A COPY OF DVD DECRYPTER INSTALLED.

You also need to learn to turn Caps Lock off.

Here's how to use DVD Shrink:-

1) Place the movie in your DVD drive.
2) Bring up DVD Shrink. Check that the movie is identified. Click 'next'.
3) If you want the whole disc including extras click 're-encode'. If you want movie only click 're-author'. Then you get several compression options. Check the level that is just under 4.38Gb. Then click 'next'/ If you have chosen to re-author you will need to select 're-encode' after this, choose the level and then 'next'.
4) Shrink then uploads all the files to your hard disc via whichever folder you have set. I put these files on my desktop since it is easy to see and use them.
5) When all files are finished uploading go to Nero. Follow the wizard to create a new DVD video.
6)In the right hand column click whichever folder the video files are in to open. Click on new 'Video' in the left column then drag and drop all the new files (VideoTS IFO BUP & VOB) from the right column into the clear (centre) column. Then click burn.

There was a very useful pictorial guide on the hyperlink I left in my answer.

And perhaps my slight sarcasm is born of people saying that they've looked for this but couldn't find the answer...yawn! Heard it like a billion times now.

I'll unsubscribe from this thread now cos you obvfiously dont need any help...even though you couldn't see the GUIDE SECTION on the first page as you enter & log in to Afterdawn.com

Oh dear had a Bad Day.

If you look at the Text of my message it Clearly States that i need guidance using DVD shrink AND DVD Decrypter. I had found the information you refer to but everyone seems to be using Nero to Burn the disc.

Perhaps as a Senior Member you should learn some Etiquette and Tolerance to people using the site.
