DVD Shrink only supports DVDs that are DVD-Video compliant. This means that Shrink is looking for a specific set of video files and not finding them.
It would helpful to know what your disc is. For example, is it a movie? If so then it may be one of the movies that have newer copy protections. This can cause Shrink to behave erratically.

Can you post your last Nero burn log?
If you have Nero 6 look here:
program files>ahead>Nero>nerohistory.txt
If you have Nero 7 look here:
program files>Nero>Nero7>Core>Nerohistory.txt
Just be sure to edit out your serial number they usually begin w/ 1A,1C 5C.
At what point in the process is the error occuring? While you are opening the DVD in Shrink or starting the burn process in Nero?

shrink cant burn the disc you need another application to perform that task.in this case nero
Suggest you try backing it up to your hard drive 1st , then do a manual burn with Nero to see if that overcomes the issue.
what Nero version are you running?

You could also try creating an ISO image with DVD Shrink and burning with Imgburn. Imgburn is free and can be found here: http://www.imgburn.com
That Nero log would still be nice to look at, sounds like you might have some issues that we could help you straighten out.

I thought DVD Shrink had it`s own built in burning engine? I guess not, I can remember using DVD Shrink and when got done compresssing it would just ask me to put in a blank dvd in and it would just burn.

When DVD Shrink asks you for a disc, it is actually Nero that is doing the burning for you. You can set up DVD Shrink to automatically call up DVD Decrypter or Imgburn to do it's burning for you as well, but you have to create an ISO image.

Open DVD Shrink...go to Edit Preferences and make sure that "enable burning with Nero" is ticked. After you've edited your move and click backup choose your burner as your target. We still need to get the burn log that fasfrank requested yesterday. If you are getting an error it might not have anything to do with autoburn but something wrong on your puter, the log can reveal any other problems you might be having.

hehehe! Hi Loco!
You go open Windows Explorer and go to the location. You will have quite a few in there as Nero makes a log after each burn.
Open the NeroHistory folder and scroll down to the bottom. That will be the last log entry. Each log is seperated by one of these:
====== *** NeroAPI, History File *** ======
Your serial number will be right below it.
Once you find it just copy/paste the entire thing into your post. Don't worry about how long it is.

Error:\nCannot connect TRF.
********************************************************************
This error as seen in your log is associated with the latest version of nero6 version 6.6.1.4, this version will not function when used with DVDshrink for autoburning and there has been no fix as of yet. If you want to continue using shrink to autoburn with nero, then..
Write down your nero serial# and then uninstall version 6.6.1.4 from your system using the general cleantool found here:
http://ww2.nero.com/nero6/enu/General_CleanTool.html
Next, download and install version 6.6.0.18 from the links provided, re-enter the serial# and you're good to go.
nero version 6.6.0.18 updates:
Package 1
http://httpdl1.usw.nero.com/software/Nero6/Nero-6.6.0.18_no_yt.exe
Package 2
http://httpdl1.usw.nero.com/software/Nero6/NVE-3.1.0.21_no_yt.exe
If you want to keep version 6.6.1.4, then you'll need to burn manually. When backing up in shrink, choose to save target as a hard disk folder to a location on your hard drive, shrink will create a VIDEO_TS folder containing all the video files it ripped. When shrink is done, you can use nero to burn the files to disk manually, here's a guide or two;
burning with nero

Here in your nero log...

or get it directly here;
http://www.liteonit.com.tw/ODD/WebFW/SOHW-812S/DR8US0S.zip
Unzip the file and run it, follow the instructions given when running the file to complete the update.

Quote: Recorder: <LITE-ON DVDRW SOHW-812S> Version: US0Q - HA 1 TA 0 - 6.6.1.4
Your firmware is one update behind, current version is USOS and can be found here: http://forum.rpc1.org/dl_result.php?kaj=1&isces
The nero version you are using is known to be buggy and doesn't support autoburning using DVD Shrink. Revert back to version 6.6.0.18 here:

You are running short on resources, no multitasking. Kill all processes that are not needed when backing up DVD's.
Based on the abbreviated log provided, this is all that I can suggest. What brand and format DVD's are you using? How fast are you burning?
EDIT: LOL...who's too slow now, I had some OJT at the copy machine and y'all got it all sorted.

Stick with what you know works, 6.6.0.18 is the last known "bug free" version. The long and short, if it ain't broke don't fix it.
Happy burning.
