Hello,

I've been experiancing slowness with DVD Shrink, usally it starts out at 4000kb/s then goes up to 12,000kb/s then goes down to 2000kb/s, it takes sooo long jsut to back up a movie then, i have no idea why it does this, any suggestions will be appreicated.

PIO/DMA? Have you checked that? Minimizing the number of apps running also helps. Shrink has been running slower for me recently but it's nothing major.

Does it only happen in Shrink? If not, did you double check to make sure it's in DMA mode, instead of PIO? Here's how to put it in DMA mode:

is the 3.2.0.15 the latest version of DVD Shrink. Its not ripping alot of movies lately

DVD Shrink 3.2 is the last ver of this program, it has not been updated in a year and half and will not be updated because the developer now works for Nero. If you want to do the latest protected movies then use the free DVDFab Decrypter and rip to your HDD and then process with Shrink.

Or try the trial version of AnyDVD which is a driver that runs in the background and will break the protection and you can then just run the file/dvd through Shrink as usual.

If your still haveing problems

I just wanted to say you should stick your burner in your PC,

I also had differnt kinda problems with 2 differnt external burners.

People kept saying stick them in your PC.

Well I never had a problem since then.

What kinda enclosure is it?

Do you have it pluged into a 2.0 USB port?

did arniebear's post help ripping to the HDD first is always a good idea

yea i know but it's external how would i stick it in and into a laptop ;)

I have it plugged in to a 2.0 plug.

I have Fab also. It works fine but Im getting afraid that if that one doesnt do it, then I use shrink. but if neither do it then what? any other free sites out there.
