I have been using DVD shrink for about 6 months. With some of the new videos I have to use the DVD fab decrypter first then shrink, but with older movies shrink will do the job.

For the first few months I could copy a movie in about 45 minutes even with using the fab decrypter first, but now when I attempt to copy a movie it takes anywhere from 3-9hrs and one took 12hrs.

Has anyone else had this problem? if so what was the fix to the problem?

Thanks

It's possible your drive has slipped into PIO mode. If so, you'll need to change it to DMA mode. Here's a guide that should help you.

First thing first...
Make sure your burner is in DMA mode...

Here's Alkohol's guide to enable:

I did as instructed. The primary and secondaryf read DMA if availiable. I uninstalled both and reinstalled. I also uninstalled my burner driver. Despite doing all of this I have had no luck with speeding up my burn time. Any more suggestions?

Thanks

Have you cleaned your tower recently? Believe it or not, this actually helps too (since with more dust there's more heat > slowing down the comp).

Try updating the firmware. That's helped me too. But I doubt that'll help since that's more about reading newer media. It's worth a shot though.

How is your computer?
Have you ever clean the cache?
If there are too many caches the speed will be dropping also..
Or, it's the problem with your shrinking tool?
You may test it with another tool, shrink the same moive.
I use Sothink DVD EZWorkshop,,I think it's the best tool I've ever used.
You can download it for free now, follow this link:http://www.dvd-easy-workshop.com/

Thanks for all of your help. I uninstalled AOL, bought a good adware program and ran it, uninstalled adware and used all of your suggestions. The result is a program that is running like it did when I first downloaded it.

I appreciate the dedication that all you put into helping people like myself who know nothing about computers or programs. Especially when you hear the same questions over and over again. Thank you for your time and maybe I can use what I have learned to help someone else.

I'm really glad you got your problem resolved.

If you haven't already done so, run a disk cleanup (Start->All Programs->Accessories->System Tools->Disk Cleanup) and defragment your hard disk (also under System Tools).

Please don't hesitate come back if you need anything else!
