Is Shrink the FASTEST of the ripping programs?

I'm just curious if shrink is the best for ripping. Is it faster to rip with Decrypter and then process through Shrink?

By fast if you mean just ripping the files off of the DVD then that comes down to how fast your DVD reader is, the speed of just ripping from the disk is hardware related. If you mean transcoding of the disk/file then Shrink is slower than either Nero Recode or CloneDVD. However, it is free and does the job well. Transcoding will go faster if you rip first with Decrypter but just how noticeable a time difference doing it this way is not that much. It all depends on whether it is a single layer rip or a dual layer rip. Transcoding also depends on computer specs, bigger processor and more ram give you faster times.

Your encoding time will also depend if you are using advanced analysis and slow encoding settings in NeroRecode and equivalent settings in Shrink.
