do anybody know if there is any way you can have shrink only use a certain amount of the CPU usage? I ask because when i had shrink going the CPU usage showed 100% and it shut my computer off to prevent CPU from overheating. i have in the bios a set temp where it does shut down if the temp reaches it. i have been using shrink and nero for like 2 years and this just started to happen a couple days ago. i also ask because i downloaded another encodeing program called dvd ez workshop and ran it, my cpu usage was only going around 50% and my computer didn't shut down although it took a long time for the program to finish. please tell i'm not stuck using any program besides shrink and nero. nothing compares to them.

would it help if you had a more resourced pc as you dont mention what you have now.

Mine has a 915SP board which allows multitasking, maybe a change may assist you

If heat is just now becoming an issue you might want to take off your cover and make sure all of your fans are working properly and blow out all of the gremlins while you are in there. Also in DVD Shrink's preferences you can specify to backup in "low priority" mode.
