Hallo all.....

I have a problem with a virus called w32.Myzor.FK@yf -- I read other threads about the same problem wich other people had with this virus. I did a scan with SmitFraudFix and followed steps 1 and two where the program detects the virus and where it removes infected file, I also did the system registry fix with SmitFraudFix.

The Virus redirects me to a ddodgy website where a popup appears that says taht I have been infected with the w32.Myzor.FK@yf virus. In the beginning popups appeared in my system tray and I couldn't remove them. They also redirected me to this dodgy site. I did a scan with Norton Ativirus and managed to get rid of the popoups.

I still get redirected to this site and it seems that I am still infected with this virus.......

.......can anyone please help me? S.O.S!..........

Here's a HijackThis scan I did.......

Download SmitfraudFix.zip to your desktop -> http://siri.urz.free.fr/Fix/SmitfraudFix.zip

Unzip it (folder named SmitFraudFix) to your desktop:

Open the folder SmitfraudFix and doubleclick smitfraudfix.cmd
Choose option #1 - Search by typing 1 and pressing "Enter"; a textfile opens and lists the infected files (if those exist)

Post the contents of this textfile to here.

(Some antiviruses recognises process.exe as a malware. It is not malware, it is a program that stops processes)

Send a fresh hijack log and rapport.txt

Hi, I just realised that this virus also interferes with my web browsing. It redirects to a "The page cannot be displayed" page wich doesent look similar to windows' version. It also displays a bar at the top saying that the page i'm looking for is blocked by spyware. The bar also supplies a link to, you guessed it, that dodgy virus homepage...........

Please download ewido anti malware it is a free version of the program -> http://www.ewido.net/en/download/

1. Install ewido security suite
2. When installing, under "Additional Options" uncheck..
* Install background guard
* Install scan via context menu
3. Launch ewido, there should be an icon on your desktop, double-click it.
4. The program will now open to the main screen.
5. When you run ewido for the first time, you may get a warning "Database could not be found!". Click OK. We will fix this in a moment.
6. You will need to update ewido to the latest definition files.
* On the left hand side of the main screen click update.
* Then click on Start Update.
7. The update will start and a progress bar will show the updates being installed.
(the status bar at the bottom will display ("Update successful")

If you are having problems with the updater, you can use this link to manually update ewido.
ewido manual updates -> http://www.ewido.net/en/download/updates/

Once the updates are installed do the following:

Download Killbox to your desktop -> http://www.downloads.subratam.org/KillBox.zip
Unzip it to your desktop.

Run Killbox.exe
-> Choose Delete on Reboot
-> Click All Files option.

Copy the following lines to your clipboard (choose text with your mouse, press CTRL+C or copy)

C:\WINDOWS\System32\ishost.exe
C:\WINDOWS\System32\issearch.exe
C:\WINDOWS\System32\ismon.exe

Then go back to Killbox
-> go to File
-> choose Paste from Clipboard
-> Click the red-white Delete File option.
-> Click Yes to Delete on Reboot question
-> Click OK to any PendingFileRenameOperations requests (and tell me if you get any of these!)
-> Restart your computer if Killbox won't do it.

(If you get this error when running Killbox: "Component 'MsComCtl.ocx' or one of its dependencies not correctly registered: a file is missing or invalid.", download Missingfilessetup.exe form here to your desktop and run the file, then try running killbox -> http://www.eudaemonia.me.uk/downloads/Files/missingfilesetup.exe)

Reboot your computer in SafeMode by doing the following:

1. Restart your computer
2. After hearing your computer beep once during startup, but before the Windows icon appears, press F8.
3. Instead of Windows loading as normal, a menu should appear
4. Select the first option, to run Windows in Safe Mode.

When in safemode, open SmitfraudFix folder and doubleclick the file smitfraudfix.cmd
Choose option #2 - Clean by typing 2 and pressing "Enter" in order to remove the infected files.

You are asked: "Registry cleaning - Do you want to clean the registry ?"; answer "Yes" by typing Y and press "Enter" in order to remove your desktop wallpaper and the infected registry keys.

The tool checks if wininet.dll file is infected. You might be asked to replace the infected .dll (if found); answer "Yes" by typing Y and press "Enter".

The tool might have to restart your computer; if it won't do it, restart your computer back to normal mode.
A textfile will appear after the cleaning process, copy this file and paste it to here.
Tha log is saved to your local diskdrive, usually C:\rapport.txt.

Warning : Running option 2 in a clean computer will delete your desktop wallpaper.

Launch ewido:

* Click on scanner
* Click on Complete System Scan and the scan will begin.
* You will be prompted to clean the first infection.
* Select "Perform action on all infections", then proceed.
* Once the scan has completed, there will be a button located on the bottom of the screen named Save report
* Click Save report.
* Save the report .txt file to your desktop or a location where you can find it easily.

Close ewido security suite.

Reboot back to normal mode

Send a ewido report Smithfraudfixes rapport.txt and a fresh hijack log

.........a side order of an Ediwo Report..........
(recieved 87 infected objects, I dont't know if I should really be alarmed, what should I do about the infections it found? The procedure with running Ediwo was different than you described. It did'nt give me the options at startup to * Install background guard * Install scan via context menu. And I was'nt prompted to clean the first infection. Does this matter?) anyway.........

Hi dayglow2,

Better now, but you didn't follow instructions :
Quote:
Launch ewido:

* Click on scanner
* Click on Complete System Scan and the scan will begin.
* You will be prompted to clean the first infection.
* Select "Perform action on all infections", then proceed.

Thats why Ewido didn't remove anything :(
Quote:
C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM32\components\flx5.dll -> Not-A-Virus.Hoax.Win32.Renos.cv : No action taken.
C:\Documents and Settings\galopsop\Cookies\galopsop@tribalfusion[1].txt -> TrackingCookie.Tribalfusion : No action taken.

Do that ewido scan in Safe mode again
Launch ewido:

* Click on scanner
* Click on Complete System Scan and the scan will begin.
* You will be prompted to clean the first infection.
* Select "Perform action on all infections", then proceed.

Send a ewido report and a fresh hijack log

Hi tapiiri, thanks for your reply.
I had troubles after visiting a site that offered free serials. Seems they dumped a lot of malware on my pc, then tried to get me to buy their removal software. Some of the malware is still lodged on the pc. For instance, adaware keeps finding two cases of 'Virtumonde'; yet though I remove them each time, they are always there next time round.
I have scanned with adaware, Spybot, norton and ewido. Altogether they removed hundreds of bits of malware (ewido detected by far the most).
After following your advice to dayglow2 I was able to stop my browser from being redirected to the culprit's site.
Here is the new hijack log:

Hi Andre28

Vundo or virtualmundo don't exist in hijack log.

Please download here -> http://www.atribune.org/ccount/click.php?id=4 VundoFix.exe to your desktop.

* Double-click VundoFix.exe to run it.
* Put a check next to Run VundoFix as a task.
* You will receive a message saying vundofix will close and re-open in a minute or less. Click OK
* When VundoFix re-opens, click the Scan for Vundo button.
* Once it's done scanning, click the Remove Vundo button.
* You will receive a prompt asking if you want to remove the files, click YES
* Once you click yes, your desktop will go blank as it starts removing Vundo.
* When completed, it will prompt that it will shutdown your computer, click OK.
* Turn your computer back on and post a fresh HjT-log along with
contents of C:\vundofix.txt

Download Killbox to your desktop -> http://www.downloads.subratam.org/KillBox.zip
Unzip it to your desktop.

Run Killbox.exe
-> Choose Delete on Reboot
-> Click All Files option.

Copy the following lines to your clipboard (choose text with your mouse, press CTRL+C or copy)

C:\WINDOWS\system32\xxyvuvt.dll
C:\WINDOWS\system32\xycdd.bak1
C:\WINDOWS\system32\xycdd.bak2
C:\WINDOWS\system32\xycdd.ini
C:\WINDOWS\system32\ddcyx.dll

Then go back to Killbox
-> go to File
-> choose Paste from Clipboard

After reboot scan with vundofix again

Then Rename HijackThis for examble fixer.exe

Scan that fixer (hijack) and send a fresh log and vundofix raport

I followed your instructions, yet when I pressed the delete key on Killbox it said: 'Verifying Registry Entries, Plz wait Click here to abort shutdown...' Then it came with a message saying: 'PendingFileRenameOperations Registry Data has been Removed by External Process!'
At any rate here is the log 'Fixer' (HijackThis):

Hi tapiiri,
seems it wouldn't allow me to paste C:\WINDOWS\system32\xycdd into Vundofix for some reason.
As I was about to come back to this site to post this reply to you I got two now familiar pop-up web pages: http://www.winantiviruspro.com/pages/newcontent/?aid=nm_go_wavna_... and http://scanner.sysprotect.com/pages/scanner/?p=21&ex=1&ax=2&aid=n...
Do they honestly think Im going to buy their software after what they've done?!
At any rate here is the log for Vundfix:

Attempting to delete C:\WINDOWS\system32\ddcyx.dll
C:\WINDOWS\system32\ddcyx.dll Could not be deleted.

Ok we'll have to use a stronger tool....

1. Download Avenger -> http://swandog46.geekstogo.com/avenger.zip and unzip it to desktop
2. Copy all text in quote box below to Notepad (starting from
Files to delete:)

Files to delete:
C:\WINDOWS\system32\xxyvuvt.dll
C:\WINDOWS\system32\xycdd.bak1
C:\WINDOWS\system32\xycdd.bak2
C:\WINDOWS\system32\xycdd.ini
C:\WINDOWS\system32\xycdd.ini2
C:\WINDOWS\system32\xycdd.tmp
C:\WINDOWS\system32\xycdd.tmp1
C:\WINDOWS\system32\xycdd.tmp2
C:\WINDOWS\system32\ddcyx.dll
C:\WINDOWS\system32\ddcyx.ini
C:\WINDOWS\system32\ddcyx.bak

Notice: This script is for this user. If you aren't that user, DON'T follow these instructions, because they might harm your system

3. Now, open The Avenger
->"Below Script file to execute" select "Input Script Manually".
->Now click magnifying glass which opens a new window "View/edit script".
-> Paste the text you earlier copied to Notepad here
-> Click Done.
-> Now click green light in order to start script.
-> Click "Yes" .

4.Avenger will do the following
-> Reboot your computer.
-> While booting, it will open a dos prompt, it's normal
-> After reboot it will create a logfile which should open . This log is in C:\avenger.txt
-> Avenger has created a backup here -> C:\avenger\backup.zip.

5. Copy/paste contents of avenger.txt along with a fresh HjT-log.

Jaa- ei tuollaasia spämmäreitä ookkaa -> tapiiri
